Totaled?

 

No. I broke 3 headlights and the grille on my car which I fixed for under $50. That stupid Citation needed the Tail Lights, Bumper, Bumper Edge Guards, Exhaust System, and even the Seats.

 

The Citation wasn't totaled?

 

No, it needed the things I listed replaced. I still think the guy screwed me because I obviously did not hit him hard but he told me the front seats snapped off the mounts and could be lifted right out of the car, along with a full exhaust when only the tip was bent.

 

How is it your fault that his car is a piece of shit? Was this back in the 1980s when the car was fairly new?

 

Yeah it was probably around 1986-1987 timeframe. I wanted to pay him in cash for the repairs so I didn't have to turn it in to insurance but he kept coming up with more and more items.

 

The blue one is a Javelin, the green one is an AMX. Look closely at rear side window. Since AMX was simply a two seat, shorthened version of the Javelin, it had a much smaller window.

 

So I was right! I asked my buddy @shakerhood if it was a Javelin, which I was 99% sure it was, and he said it was an AMX. I knew it wasn’t short enough to be an AMX.

 

I used to work on those when they were new. The door struts would leak hydraulic fluid onto the drivers' and passengers' laps. The wiring loom looked like an elemenatary school kid dragged a handful of crayons around the engine bay. The fit and finish of the bodywork and trim was unforgivably bad. I was the new guy in the shop so I got stuck with them.
