The last room. Gotta make a few rip cuts and then cut and install the baseboards/moulding whatevers and that'll be a wrap. Oh and a side note, whoever recommended those CRC knee pads was absolutely not joking. They are the most comfortable I've ever used. I could never stay on my knees for longer than an hour or two with other knee pads without having to stop for a 15-20 breaks

So I'm texting you from 11am and you see it 3 hours earlier at 8 am. No snow here, gonna be 70 and I ate a fresh Asparagus omlett hours ago. Is the tailgate party going TW live or y'all meeting up IRL? @cruiserguy

Customer was fortunate, we found this waterproof scraped plank flooring at Costco for like 2 bucks a ft. That's cheap. And the quality is high. And the install quality is lipstick on a pig but who cares. Still my name on it, lol.
Flooring is work but it's a nice rewarding type of work. You see a drastic improvement when completed so it's kinda fun for me in that weird way kinda. I dunno. It pays good if you do good detailed work. Id have put this stuff in my own home in a heartbeat. I'm impressed with this stuff

Yeah, I'm all about paying for quality work in my own home.

Just can't stomach doing the last room at 30x31 :anonymous:

    Did you carpet their bathroom?

Heard some guys here in the LT are into that.

One nice big square? That's an installers dream. It's the specialty cuts to accommodate all the stupid little extras that people have or want that drives install up. But these were all nice 'square', (not so truly square, of course), only had the closets to cut in. I like a seamless look if possible and depends a lot on how flat and true the floor is.
And on the carpet in bathroom? Just my opinion, that's kinda gross. This place had tile in bathrooms and hallways. Single level little 1970s rambler. Dude the 2x4 and components they used in construction back then.....:eek:so heavy duty. The 2x4s look like they're a kind of hard or medium hard wood, not pine like now a days. I'd love to find a little small rambler from like the 50s 60s. Incredible craftsmanship those old carpenters and builders had man. True masters of the craft. Nowadays everything is prwfabbed. Doors are prehung. Walls are prwframed and delivered. Etc etc. Old school stuff is truly an art and skill. I admire that shiz

So how was that underwater movie? I've seen the commercial a few times and I saw a review for it where the local media critic (total nerd by the way, makes me love him lol) actually said it was good. He was like I know the plot looks cliche but this was an intense fast movie. And I thought might be good. Then you watched it last night, right?

Pretty much, sans the 2 walk in closets.

I know what you mean though with those old houses; old house I used to rent when I lived in Chicago had real hard wood floors, heated too. Heavy ass solid doors, and other details that reminded you it was well built.

Hahaha hadn't seen that. That'll gross you out. But some folks do put carpet in the bathroom. I guess maybe it's warmer for your feet when you get out of shower or something? Not sure what the perk would be. Carpet would cost less than vinyl floor in bathroom but not by much. It'd have to be a personal preference I'd think

Well, thank you but for one, that is not what we've been talking about. At least not what I've been hearing. If I wanted to do that, I'd be taking a serious look at: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/f-s-complete-4x4-swap-for-1st-gen-tacoma-2001.644702/ which i'm not. I have no desire to try and get that rats nest to work let alone have the electronic actuator fail at some point. I think what Dan has been talking about has been vacuum. Not 100% sure though.

What I found interesting was the http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/tech/add/ write-up.

For the last time, let's make this very clear - I have NEVER said manual hubs were bad. Completely the opposite, I've been very much considering that route simply because I can complete this faster with less headache. That's right - the easy route. The last thing I want is some hobbed together mess.

Hopefully you now know where I'm at now... and it is not dreaming of being on the line at NUMMI playing with the factory harness.

Knowledge gets in my way when I see Deep sea walks in the Marianas trench in 80s Moon suits. By the way, this is a wall studIMG_20200111_120117399.jpg IMG_20200111_120047974.jpg

    Gotcha.

I was just going to ask, aside from the internal circuit protection that most winches have built in, if you are going to wire directly to the battery or utilize your RTMR fuse block.

My winch can draw over 457 amps, so I'll be going directly to the battery; I want to make sure everything else is up to snuff so I'll want to upgrade my alternator and battery as well.

I know you upgraded your battery, but wondering if you're going to touch your alternator at all, and if you've done the big 3 yet?
