Sorry I can’t be much help for concrete example. But if you can see the springs, It takes about 3/16 of an inch to fill the rest of that hole. A rounded top on your homemade piece that sits just above flush should work fine. I could ship you my raisin for enough money to keep me from taking mine apart, would give you a concrete example

Thanks for the help- I'm still debating if its at all worth taking apart- since the 4x4 dial works without the raisins anyway. Despite the encouragement ( @Skydvrr )
I may decide to let sleeping dogs lie.

Or a very small and narrow screwdriver- this will also work.

Sorry I meant getting to new one on. Doesn’t quite line up and when I force it, it doesn’t click into place it just pops out

I had trouble as well,- I rotated the MESO part until the MESO part fell into place- sort of like a key fitting into the chambers of a lock. No offense, but I have to say it, make sure you have the 'Starter Ring' and not the 4x4 ring too.

Both rings look similar but are completely different when it comes to the tabs that lock the ring around the cylinder.

Yeah 4x4 is installed. I tried lining the 12 o’clock mark up and she ain’t going. I’ll keep fucking with it

I can get it in but it won’t sit flush or lock into place

mine was the same way. Got it eventually. I think they may have been just a little imperfect, sounds like he’s working on improved start ring.

It may be possible the dial will turn too freely and get bumped into or out of 4h or 2wd. Just saying, it might actually have some benefit to fixing.

Be sure the 12 o'clock position of the ring (marked with a silver dot on the back) is kept just slightly to the left of the 12 o'clock position of the PTS button.

I had the same issue. It never fully seated but feels more secure with the switch installed. That's mostly a veil to mask my laziness.

Had the same issue and you explained exactly what I experienced. Eventually just jammed it in and broke the 12 o clock tab and just sits there not flush but can't really tell installed back in place. Oh well I'm sure @MESO is working on this

Sorry for the lack of update guys! Been super busy at the shop.

    touching on a few points:
    1) Yes I am fully aware some customers are having issues seating the start ring correctly. The mold has been fixed and I am pumping some new samples now. ANYONE that didn’t get theirs to fit correctly I am shipping one out FREE of charge once they are ready. Just PM me your order number and I’ll add you to my list of “revised rings”.

    2) 4X4 knob: it seems some customers are loosing the little springs and/or detents that are located inside when disassembling. When I made the how-to video, mine stayed in place so i didn’t think of it to be an issue. I am revising my video and making a little note to make everyone aware.

    3) A/C rings are close to fruition! I’ve got the mold done and samples test fit.. everything looks good so production has started. They are really clean and simple. Easy to install and hold in tight(friction fit around the perimeter combined with locking tabs at all 3 factory mounting holes. They are also numbered with arrows on the back to avoid any confusion during installation. Stay tuned!

Any chance you do the zone climate control ring on the nobs? That would complete everything.
