I had a question too, never heard anything but figured I would reach out again once he had the start button mold updated.

Me too. Wrote him an email after having problems with my Start Button Ring. Haven't heard back. Hope the new version fits better. @MESO said he would send out a new version to anyone who wanted to replace the first version. Hope my email puts me on that list...

Wish I had known he was making a new mold earlier lol. My fitment was horrible, I ended up trimming the lip off the start button then gluing the ring on. It's never coming off.. I didn't want to bother @MESO for a new one, he does to much for us and the rest of the kit was perfect!!

    Just getting started...
Glad I found this post as I was having problems getting it to line up.

That being said, is it normal for it to not pop/clip in to place like the old one? Just kind of presses in and sits there? Followed your instructions to the letter and the start button ring can just be pulled and removed with ease. And it does seat all the way, just like your video but isn't really secure. Short of maybe putting a couple tiny dabs of epoxy or rtv or something on the back in a couple spots, almost worried it will vibrate out.

HOWEVER... rest of the kit fits and looks FANTASTIC! :) Thanks for everything you do for the community!

EDIT: Just saw the posts above about the new mold. Any chance I could potentially get on that list as well?

I got my handles in today, they look correct but nothing on them say Toyota or Hilux. :notsure: I’ll see if I get time tomorrow to install a couple. They’re a lot lighter than I anticipated, but I should’ve known since they’re just plastic. 006B1C74-B205-48C1-94C6-BF6F6FE626E7.jpg

Sorry for the lack of update guys! Been super busy at the shop.

    touching on a few points:
    1) Yes I am fully aware some customers are having issues seating the start ring correctly. The mold has been fixed and I am pumping some new samples now. ANYONE that didn’t get theirs to fit correctly I am shipping one out FREE of charge once they are ready. Just PM me your order number and I’ll add you to my list of “revised rings”.

    2) 4X4 knob: it seems some customers are loosing the little springs and/or detents that are located inside when disassembling. When I made the how-to video, mine stayed in place so i didn’t think of it to be an issue. I am editing my video and making a little note to make everyone aware.

    3) A/C rings are close to fruition! I’ve got the mold done and samples test fit.. everything looks good so production has started. They are really clean and simple. Easy to install and hold in tight(friction fit around the perimeter combined with locking tabs at all 3 factory mounting holes. They are also numbered with arrows on the back to avoid any confusion during installation. Stay tuned!

They look exactly the same. I’m sure when you take out the chrome ones, the weight will feel the exact same. Again, it’s a very easy install, I did mine today and had everything swapped in 15 mins. They’re going to look great!
And Meso, can’t wait for the vent rings!

You installed the eBay ones? They seem decent quality?
