I was driving home tonight went kinda fast around a curve that i usually go fast around but this time my truck tried to straighten itself and it felt like the ABS engaged while all this is going on a warning light went on like a car with slipping tracks or something. was that my traction control? my lsd wasnt on or lockers,

after the incident it seemed to drive just fine.

Any suggestions of what it couldve been

Did you slam on the brakes? Did the truck go a little sideways when you took the turn?

Your VSC engaged , it's become more sensitive since you lifted .

If you have installed larger wheels/lifted the truck and have not reset the traction control, you need to do that--actually, the dealer will need to do that unless you have the $1200 Toyota special service tool (ODBII scanner with extra Toyota stuff). The dealer needs to look-up VSC Reset. Reset is called for when you install different sized tires or otherwise change the suspension.

I bought my Taco with a lift kit already installed and the TC used to come on all the f'ing time. It drove me crazy and scared the crap out of my passengers :)

I found the procedure on line, printed it out and went over to the dealer...since the truck came lifted, they did it for free. Your mileage may vary :)

Well, I'm not sure what it is. I know that if you slam on the brakes the ABS will kick in and it will make a growling noise (kind of like a little angry midget under your hood).
If you drift sideways your truck will let you know that too, it will make a beeping noise.
I also think that you have an LSD, but it's not in the diff, but controlled automatically by the rear brakes for your year. That could of also happened?

I wouldn't worry about it unless it keeps doing it, or gets worse. Or throws a code of some kind.
Maybe someone can come on and tell us what it was.

EDIT: well....never mind, others have posted already while I was writing this.

    VSC = Vehicle Stability Control

    The OP's 2010 will have it , your 2005 may not .

I know exactly where that is  I come through that on the bike once and a while and it still catches me off guard...been a couple of fatalities there too.

    VSC is Vehicle Stability Control.

You might also consider checking the balance of the tires if you have any shaking in the steering wheel.

My truck is not currently lifted either , but I have had some issues with the VSC engaging , I've had mine reset , and it got better , but has still come on occasionally .

    With AMR?

The check shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes.
