So, my mechanic Pete is a former Volvo technician who absolutely loves that brand. He has owned an obscene amount of Volvos over the years, and he buys decent condition examples that need mechanical work, repairs them, and flips them for a profit; Yesterday, he had a 2010 S60 with 140K miles that he'd just bought...

The previous owner hit a median and ripped open the oil pan, which relieved the engine of all oil and seized it up in mere seconds! He has a junkyard engine block that he's going to install in this car; He used his 2019 DCLB TRD Sport to move the car, as seen below, and then I helped him push the car into garage while his friend steered...

Things like this really grind my gears...

I parked next to this Corolla when my friends and I went to see a movie on Saturday night; The owner happened to come out to get something from his car, and I asked him what happened.

He told that a garbage truck hit his car while it was legally parked outside his house and peeled the door like a soup can! A stipulation with a local code of
some sorts states that the garbage company holds no responsibility and his insurance company must pay to fix his car...

When the owner told me this, I responded by saying “That’s bullshit!” He wholeheartedly agreed with me!

 

Funny that you brought that up as over the Summer a Garbage Truck hit and dragged a guys 3rd Gen Tacoma. The accident was caught on camera so he pursued them and went after the city, after all was said and done the Tacoma Owners insurance had to pay for it but the City covered his deductible because of all the bad news coverage.

 

That's exactly what I'd do; Embarrass them publicly until they made things right!

 

It may have been a private trash company, but apparently there's something local rule about vehicles being parked on the street.

 

So here’s a story of grade school douchebaggery for y’all...

It was when we were living in Virginia, sometime in 1999 if I remember correctly.

I forget entirely how this started, but I bumped into or pushed some kid while waiting in line for the school bus; This happened at school. This kid said ever so calmly said that he was going to push me because I pushed him, or something like that, but I wasn’t really paying attention.

The next thing I knew, this asshole came up and just shoved me as hard as he possibly could, so hard that I almost fell on to the sidewalk. Keep in mind that I was 10 at the time; The only thing on my mind was clobbering this guy, because before it had just been an accident, but now he had crossed a line by assaulting me.

If I remember correctly, I believe a teacher broke it up; Neither of us got in any trouble!

 

Another time in Virginia Beach, while waiting to board the bus after school, I unwittingly cut in front of some other kids. I did not think I’d cut anyone for whatever reason, and stood my ground; A teacher or faculty member of some sort physically pushed out of the line without saying a word.
