    I have no idea why we can't wear them, but faculty at my school goes insane if they see you wearing a hat. It's absurd. My school has also recently banned ipods. :mad:

    If you have an ipod or a hat and your seen with it, the deans take it and you have to get one of your parents to come and pick it up from the office. Its bullshit.

    That is how my highschool in Mississippi was (both of them), but when I moved to Colorado - everyone was wearing hats! :confused:

    So, I attribute it to being a Southern thing. I was only in high school for another 6 months. In college, you could do anything as long as you weren't disrupting the class and were their to learn.

    Damn - I miss high school and college - so much fun. :D

    i suspect the hat thing is a southern thing...stemming from the whole take your hat off when you go indoors idea...its kind of a respectful thing

    to this day i take off my hats when i walk inside
