1/4” plates it wasn’t bad pretty strait forward except somebody’s patterns were uh not always perfect yeah that’s it. It wasn’t bad a lot of cutting and grinding and somehow all the overhead welding was left to me LOL. I had fun and Lord knows Bill helped me tremendously with that project

Randy I have often wondered if e would have had more time if we should have removed the rear bracing where the spare goes and have done solid plates and X braces with tubing

I've seen that done on some trucks. I think it would indeed make the rear even more rigid, but seeing as skip only frequents the malls he should be alright :D

 We should mounted a winch to the rear so he could pull himself out of all the holes he dives into

I hate them too. Just sounds like they're not adjusted tight enough. It took me a few tries to get mine right

Easy enough. Winch cradle in the receiver and plumb cables to the reae

The rear drums should drag slightly on the shoes.

As far as the bleeding, good luck. I have yet to successfully bleed one of these trucks. I've only gotten to where it's driveable to the shop.

Edit: so far solution to squeaky Dakars is leaf liners, Dobinsons greasable pins, and a very occasional spray of some crazy lubricant I bought, but it's mostly for the creaky bushings.

You all must wheel way harder than I do. I've had my Dakars on for almost 2 years and they don't squeak. Need to knock on some wood somewhere now...

I really don't know that I had problems. I started like this. I did it all as preventative. The last time we wheeled I got a light creaking, but not annoying.

Randy and I had the same damn problem. It's the adjustment issues. I ended up having the dealer do it. We tried multiple times and it was always shit.

I put it back on the rack 4 times to adjust them, set it as tight as i could while still being able to get the drums on and even added some clicks from the back. I dunno...its fubar.
I did the leaf liners and it helped for about 5 minutes. When i do the unbuild rebuild im going to look around for a different spring pack.

With it all assembled, you should be able to spin the tire and hear the brakes slightly dragging. It took quite some tightening to get to that point for me. And once I got they done I still had to tighten up my parking brake a little under the cup holder.

What did you do with the brake lines on the left rail by the gas tank?
