Yep. Rockslide USA slide, Silencer Co barrel, and Glock internal parts.

You did better than me then. I spent about 50 more than an actual G17 but since I hate Glock grips and this doesn't have that issue its something I can live with.

I went back and checked a spreadsheet I made when piecing it together and it looks like I got it put together for $494 w/ shipping and taxes so.... I actually did spend $50 more than normal lol.

Still a kinda fun thing to assemble. Worth trying once for me.

Definitely. I think I want to try an AR lower next but I don't have the tools for it yet, so it will have to wait.

    Same issue here.
Don't think it had anything to do with sanding the poly. I think it was more with the two piece metal insert. I had to squish the front part slightly closer together and I polished the crap out of everything.
Seems to be running fine now.

I'll have a look at that. I think the issue for me is the recoil spring is binding in its channel because I didn't get rid of enough material.

When I did my PF940C my hang ups were from the recoil spring binding, it’s an easy place to not remove enough material.

How quiet is that? I know the business end is quiet but what about where the slide and the gasses coming out with the casing are, do you get noise there?

With subsonic ammo it's about the same as a handclap, with supersonic ammo it's a little bit louder, either way it's not Hollywood quite but it's very pleasant to shoot.

We shot about 150 rounds behind the house and didn't wake up a sleeping 3 year old about 15 yards away.

This. I've done some on a mill with 3axis DRO. It's too precise. You need to wallow out the spring channel with a dremel and it will work fine.

Question: Should I shoot it, or not?

Through a series of trades and barters, I’m now the proud owner of a like new, never fired, Glenfield Marlin Model 25, .22 S/L/LR rifle, made in September of 1967. It’s not worth much money (~$150), but the thing is pristine. My uncle had one just like it when I was a kid, and my cousin and I shot the ever loving piss out of that little rifle. Was a great gun.

The bolt came out without much trouble, and there is zero wear, and zero evidence of powder fouling. Separated the action & barrel assembly from the stock, and there was only a hint of surface rust around the stud of the stock mounting screw. A little CLP, and it wiped right off, bluing intact. Still a little dab of gooey shipping oil (maybe cosmoline?) near the seer and in the bolt itself. Cleaned it all out with CLP, and put it back together. Even the single 8-round mag was perfect, aside from a little dust.

It’s a cheap gun, that were made by the gazillions. Chances are, it’ll never have a lot of monetary value. The little boy in me wants to grab a 1000 rounds of the cheapest .22 ammo I can find and go plink away. The history loving engineer in me, says to keep it clean, oiled, and unsullied, and allow it to stay pristine in the safe.

What would you guys do? I may or may not do what’s suggested, but any other points of view are certainly welcomed.
