Trimmed fenders so I could drive around a little bit this week. Still need to tub the drivers side, but I have pretty good turning radius at ride height at least. Only issues have been parking but hopefully I’ll get that finished up this weekend.

Haha thanks man. Added bonus to having to trim the front fenders is I trimmed just up past my body damage/ scratches that I got over the summer.

All depends how you mount them. Race trucks will use DZus fasteners and can probably swap the whole trucks bodywork in 5 min. I have my bodywork setup that I can swap my rear fenders in about 10min. I could probably do the same for the front, but done have anything to swap to.

I did my best to follow this first body line and rough cut with a cutoff wheel. Then used a dremel with a sanding wheel on it to clean up the rough cut and get it closer. Mine is by no means perfect but it got the job done238723FA-D656-47C8-B9F9-67EB5E08BBA7.jpg

Yes. But depending on tire size you may or may not need trimming or may or may not need to trim up to where I did. My 35’s cleared the fenders with no trimming. Best to cycle suspension while installing your kit to see exactly what needs to be done

For the cost I say go with the 3.5 kit as it isn’t much more. But if you’re not gonna use it, and not gonna upgrade to something like a dmz rear with bed cage then a 2.0 would probably be a smart choice. I know I wouldn’t have been happy with a 2.0 kit, but like others have said, a properly tuned stock width setup will outperform an untuned 3.5 kit any day.

4tunner brake upgrade happening tonight. Just waiting on my helper to get home so I can bleed them.

Hoping to strip everything down this weekend so I can paint e engine cage and get back to enjoying the truck for a little while. Still need to address my tweaked shackle hangers but they’ll be fine for a little while.

Just when I think I’m done with tube work for a while I go and decide to add these through the grill to connect the engine cage to front bumper.

    E7B4F733-D28A-42B7-80AD-D57EC2D1B563.jpg

These tubes will also be used to build a few hood pin mounts off of which is the true reason they are getting added now, along with strengthening the front bumper. But I noticed excessive hood flutter driving down the hwy and have heard of hood latches breaking off the core support and flying open. Don’t want that happening ever, so a few hood pins will go in as a safety precaution.

No pics, but finished up the bumper to engine cage tie in ad hood pin install today. Need to adjust the pin height, but they should really help with the hood flutter and peace of mind

    Some misc projects from today.

Wired up a KC cyclone as an interior light. The Tacoma Beast led kit just wasn’t cutting it with the cage in the way.

    0BB04AEF-3A15-4583-9FB9-97781AC270DB.jpg

And I got a small 1.5 ton jack for Xmas so I got going on an extension to make it tall enough for the truck. Need to fine tune the extension adjustments and get a real pin and then build a mount for it. Planning on mounting to the top of the bed cage.

Some 1st gen sliders ready for powdercoat before we install. Yes I capped the ends, just didn’t snap that pic.

Those sliders look sick man! One suggestion, run the gussets towards the vertical wall of the square tube leg so that if the sliders take a super hard hit, they won’t crush into the square tube at all. If you run them towards the left or right of where you have them over the vertical wall of the square tube then it will have more support underneath the gusset. They look super dope. I really like the kick up. Just a suggestion for the next set you build.

Truck is getting some serious love in 2020. First time ever it will have a matching spare rim, and first time in about 5 years it will have a full size, brand new, matching spare tire. Big upgrade from the spare tire with 6 plugs in the sidewalk that still leaks lol.

Just need to pull and paint the faux beadlock bolts black.

The DD Elantra is also getting a full size spare but the cheapest steel rim and cheapest full size tire lol. Better than the can of fix a flat that came with it.
