Eh, my friend vacuums while her kid sleeps. Just makes him a deep sleeper and allows them to have normalish lives in the evenings. I wish my parents did it with me. A freaking pin dropping will wake me up.

Vacuums are a constant noise though...they're loud yea, but I mean more like a sudden explosion or loud bang like dropping a pan in a quiet room. That kind of startling

 

Once again...don't want to pay for the therapy

Yeah no dont do that. But Id say cranking up the TV and other constant things is fine.

It took me awhile to be able to sleep with the quiet hum of my ceiling fan. And dont even get me started about when I have to room with someone who needs "white noise" to sleep. Constant tossing and turning ensues.

 

I have to sleep with the TV on. But the water fall sound from the turtle tank drives me crazy still

 

Haha I'm one of those people, my wife is like you and it drives her crazy sometimes. I always have a fan going on 'high' when I go to bed, even in winter. I can sleep in a dead quiet room if I have to but I prefer some kind of white noise
