And it's here! And many of us have already watched it. I, for one, was very happy with it. I'll throw in the caveat that I have read all the books...

 

You’re a few weeks late lol. The wife and I binged it on our Christmas break. She was skeptical but really enjoyed it. I’ve never read the books or played the games but I’m a sucker for anything Cavill and thought it was awesome!

 

Just a few weeks late in writing here! Haha, we had the season finished in less than a week from its release. If it weren't for our toddler, we'd probably have finished it in a couple days. Glad you liked it! It may be far away, but I'm looking forward to season 2, and them really getting into the meat of the story. So far everything has been world/character set-up and prologue. They've barely touched the 5 book saga so far.

 

Is the Witcher really worth watching?

I liked it a lot, though you really can't compare it to GoT at all or you'll be disappointed. GoT was way more of a serious drama, The Witcher is a drama but in kind of a campy fantasy way that falls in line with how the video game was. It is really good though in it's own way, just kind of bugs me that the first trailers for it talked about how it was the next Game of Thrones when in reality that's setting it up for failure in the eyes of GoT fans.
Henry Cavhill steals the show, I think it really wouldn't be as good as it is if not for him. His fight scenes aren't that many in the first season, but the ones he's in are epic.

Sucks they only made 8 episodes for the first season, next one is over a year away from what I read awhile back. I burned through it in 2 days lol.

 

Personally I think the whole show is carried by henry. All the scenes without him are meh but overall its enjoyable. Played the games, Never read the books so I'm not a total witcher elitest when it comes to story accuracy.

And Yennefer is pretty hot, well later on she is, so that's a plus

 

He did all his own stunts too. I enjoyed it, but yeah don't compare it to GoT and you'll probably enjoy it. If not just look for some beewbs especially Yennifers
