I bought an Entune premium head out of a 18 Tacoma and put it in my 16 Tacoma. I cannot get an Entune app because, upon entering my Vin number, I'm told the Entune Premium system is not in my truck. Does anyone know of a "work around" so I can get past that to download the Entune app?

Are you able to get the VIN of the truck it came out of? If so, you can use that VIN to register.

I've got a 2020 Limited having the same problem. I called Toyota and they said there is a problem with the Entune and will not be offering it in 2021. I get the same error, my truck isn't equipped for Entune. The Toyota rep said it's a known problem, but there is nothing else I can do, except hit the OK button (or any other button) every time that error pop up is displayed - which is about a minute after I start the truck. Toyota Entune sucks - don't fight too much trying to get it.

Once I got my truck from the dealer and we tried to set up Entune, it wouldn't work. They said it wasn't available for the 2020. Seems like they are not knowledgeable about it. With logic, then why would there be an apps button. Now that I bump into this thread, seems like it is a toyota problem?

on the 2020s it's a different app and moves away from the VIN check. Instead it relies on a quick bluetooth check when you launch the app in the car. download entune 3.0.

there is only one app available for entune 3.0. it's Amazon alexa. not bad if you have an amazon music subscription.

You have to install the APP on your phone first.
