Yeah. Going toward gorges that is a humdinger of a hill. It was raining pretty good when we were there. Can’t remember but I think I had to hit 4wd.

Can confirm that the gate between Auger Hole Rd and Musterground Rd is open. Last Saturday, I ran it with @synaps3 , @r0bn8or , and @Sprocket1505 .

    My trip report .

We started something with the GA guys. Now it seems like everyone wants to go back. I'm sure you can find some folks either here or the GA Weekly Getting Outdoors thread.

Just got a notice today on FB that our OG trip was 2 years ago today. I was curious about what gates were open this time of year because all the non seasonal gates are close right now.

We made it as far as the muddy patch maybe 100 yards from the NC/SC gate at the border (Just after the abandoned car on the right) but we decided to turn around Just before then.

So everything should be opened to the bridge and possibly beyond the bridge. Quite possibly the NC/SC gate at Auger Hole is still open.

The problem is, isn't there a gate right at the trailhead in the parking lot at musterground rd?

I know the gate at the guard shack should be closed on the MG side but people should still be able to get in because of the overlook and also their is some residential housing down past the overlook if I'm not mistaken.

Anyone been out to either MG or CMR lately?

There is a gate at the Bad Creek side, which would be closed this time of year.

    Thought so.
But if that's the case, if in fact the nc/SC gate is open at Auger hole. Why couldn't you get in via CM go over the bridge, up to the nc/SC Auger hole gate and wander around up in musterground? Turn around and come back out CM?

No reason at all, I dont think. You just have a long way to get back out on the NC side.
