I have a 2006 Tacoma (4.0 l V6 2WD) and I need to get my truck smog checked. I went to a place and I was missing the carb sticker on my cold air intake (Airaid). So I get the sticker and go back and the dude runs my truck. He inspects my engine and runs a number from my header and he comes back and says my headers are tampered with and the code says I have “Ford Mustang” headers on my engine.

Is this even possible? And has anyone else heard of this?

I don't see how you could possibly have Mustang headers on your truck. I think he's full of crap and you should get it inspected at a different shop, IMO. I need to get the carb sticker for my intake too...

A mustang header? Sounds like he's trying to shake you down for a huge payout. You might consider reporting him to the appropriate state agency for fraud.
