Thinking about grabbing falken wildpeak 285s off Amazon. Great price and free shipping to Hawaii which is critical because shipping is usually half the original price. Lol

Anyone else have luck with tires from Amazon or should I pass on them and order locally from a reputable shop?

I did it. A bit better than TireRack, even using the same installation shop. The positives were 1yr same as cash, the installation cost is what you paid with tax added on (tirerack was not a guaranteed amount), and the installation cost rolls back to the card that you paid with. You pay nothing at the shop.

I used to be loyal to DiscountTire, but they now get their own tires like Les Schwab does, so comparisons are hard.

My local options are shops like Lex Brodies, 4wheelparts, Goodyear and then your typical Costco/samsclub.

My current 265/70/17s were from samslcub and have been impossible to balance since I got them. I like the shop I take them to and they've done the best they could. Rotating 180* multiple times. Even for free at times.

So you're saying it's similar to a shop selling falkens because falken still makes the tires and the store is just the distributor, being Amazon in this case?

If you have Discount Tire there they will price match. Found my Falkens on walmart and Discount price matched. Saved $120 on the set.

It's like buying online instead of buying retail a retail shop marks the price up to pay for salesman paycheck electric bill ect.

I bought a 305/70R16 wildpeak for a spare and it looks to be in perfect shape, not sure when it was manufactured though. $160 or so shipped to my door. Haven't used it yet.

Be careful finding something to cheap online there's always a catch exspecaliy tires just because a tire isn't used doesn't mean it's new alot of the cheaper tires you find online are already 5 years old they sell so cheap cause they didn't sell 5 years ago at there regular price

Wait and find a used set off of a Jeep unless you need them this moment. They come on the new gladiators stock and many jeepers upgrade to 35s or 37s right away. I found my set of 5 C load range with only ~20 miles on them for $500.
