When did you place your order. I ordered the same kit laste week and emailed zendesk my system id and vehicle info but have not received my registration key. I did get a pre shipment email but no changes have been made to the shipping status.

You have to be patient, this is what happens when only one person has figured out how to tune these trucks and so many people want the tune.

I didnt. I was purchased for me and given as a xmas gift. Believe me I'd love to have returned it knowing it was gonna be headache. There are no refunds so I'm doing the best I can on a $700 purchase.
I came from a Focus ST that I was able to tune with a COBB access port. It was by far easier than this has been

Have you explained the situation and asked for a refund?

    Or tried disabling your AV?

Hey bro, I understand your frustration. This process is not for the faint at heart. It super nerdy hacker-like stuff. A good working knowledge of Windows is required as well. I think a whole bunch of us took many hours over several days trying to get our first flash to go. It's a difficult mod. But that's part of why it feels so good once it done. A feeling accomplishment. Hang in there.

That is a Flash Kit, not a HH as you said in Post 10. IMO, the Flash Kit is more useful. You can do free customizations with TechStream and it works on our Mazda also. Just follow the Flash Kit instructions.

How would you even go about qualifying that? With the funky stock tunes, there are more tuning newbs on the Taco that I have ever heard before, esp for an NA motor. This was my first experience.

There are a few others that have tuned the 3rd Gens. No one has put in as much time as OVT though.

OVT might do refunds on a case-by-case basis. That is between you and him though.

I have not asked for a refund because the webpage, as everyone directs me to, clearly states that no refunds will be given. That's why I firstly stated I would gladly sell all unopened, uninstalled tunes/files to anyone shopping if it was allowed. I'd take a little loss, better than losing out on the entire 700.
My last message to OV is yet unanswered. I'm hoping I have have provided the necessary info but I'm now at the mercy of waiting on the next reply. So, I wait to see

There is nothing hackerish about the process, what so ever.

I hate to be 'that guy' but have you tried restarting your computer?

I've noticed weird issues from time to time where programs that started perfectly fine 10 minutes ago, don't start up the next time and get stuck in the task manager not doing anything. I think it has something to do with the way the anti virus and firewall are integrated in windows 10. It's all a bit janky...

I would try restarting, then disabling AV, disabling firewall (if you have one, sometimes the AV programs come with their own), and disabling windows defender.

You should explain the issue in the ticket you have open with them, the worst they can say is no.

I didn't know what to call it. Flash kit. Hand held. It only arrived today. I literally just received it. Forgive my verbiage in post 10.

What you have is a dongle-less kit based on the pic - not a hand held unit. The I.D. you need to provide is the computer system I.D. - not your ECU (vehicle id). Your Computer System ID is found in the Windows Software - you don't need OVTune software to find it - find Windows Explorer and look for System ID. Then highlight it and use "control C" to copy it and "control V" to paste it in your email to the Zen Help Desk. As for setting up the OVTune software Mat's video works = just watch it three or four time, take notes and proceed - remember to install all drivers, including OpenPort. I'm in Denver/Golden and can help remotely - @In4aride is in Montrose maybe he can assist too. I'll dm you my phone # if you want and try to talk you through the above mentioned. Let me know. There are two other threads in the 3rd Gen section. They are both remote and use a dyno shop as a go between. There was one other that I heard about otherwise.

Sorry, but talk about that stuff get muddy around here quickly. Some searching will find the threads.

OVT had a lot of issues with folks doing BS chargebacks and such. The refund policy is stated hard to keep the CraigList-low-baller-types from taking advantage. Again if you are really done, take to OVT about it.

As is, you are halfway there using a tried and true kit.

If someone is in Montrose, and fluent with this process, I'd happily make the drive.

No worries. Terminology is important though. I don't mean or want to sound like a dick, but treat this like a school class. Learn as much as you can before you try plugging into your Taco. That is a test that you want to pass with an A.

Dude, we're disabling Windows defender and hacking our trucks. Regardless of your perspective I think calling it "hackerish" is entirely appropropraite for the OP's perspective, to whom I was speaking.

Giving up and asking for a refund just seems kinda ridiculous. You've got one little issue holding this up and it's not even related to OV tune... it's a windows issue.

disabling windows defender is not hacking anything, neither is loading a tune to a truck.....
