I try very hard to keep that from happening to mine. It has nearly happened a couple of times as the wife has a hard time letting shit go. I have slowly broken her of that habit. I am trying to not have multiple moving trucks full of shit when we move.

My supervisor witnessed a guy get a ticket once...

The circumstances were total bullshit; The guy’s 4-door sedan (unknown make and model) was parked on a public street outside a deli in Ivyland, Pennsylvania that my supervisor frequents. The guy got out of his car and walked into the deli just as a cop was driving by. The car apparently had illegal tint; Cop sees the car, backs up, and asks the poor bastard if the car is his. The guy said that it was his car and the cop wrote him a ticket on the spot! He wasn’t even driving; Talk about hitting below the belt!

I often call cops Revenue Generation Officers!

 

It took me 7 trips to move (7x14 trailer) I’ve been getting rid of stuff since.

 

And in Pennsylvania, not having these will result in a $128 “present” from your local revenue generation department.

 

We need to go through and toss a bunch more shit once decent weather rolls back around. I try to go through the house and the garage twice a year and purge. When we moved in we did it in one shot with 3 trucks and two fairly small trailers. I don’t have any delusions of doing that again but I would really like to be as close to that as humanly possible when we move out.

 

I think everyone should move every 3-5 years just to purge old junk. My buddies grandparents lived in the same house for 60 years before moving to town. The junk you find is amazing

 

You should have seen my aunt and uncle’s basement after living in the same house for less than 22 years!

 

I think I’d get bored being in one place for that long. I’ve been here about 3.5 now, should probably start figuring out where to next. I’m still waiting on @Cav_BluTRD to find some ground (and money tree) for the shop and cabins we are building.

 

I don’t ever want to rent; Living with my parents while I save up to but a place!

 

I rented, had a house, back to renting.

If I find another killer deal like this to rent, I'll keep doing it. I'll buy again when the market crashes. Stuff is super over priced around here and no one wants the 3000+ sq feet monstrosities that are $500,000.

 

Well I have kayaks. A pop up camper and 2 Harley's in there. Plus 3 toolbox’s and a fridge. Compressor. Snowblower. Yard stuff. Blah blah blah

A 2-bedroom/1-bathroom condo with central A/C is around $200K in my area.

 

You could easily spend that on a condo in Des Moines. Most houses are $200-300k and the taxes can be killer.

 

Taxes around here can easily top $10,000 per year!

All of the houses in my parents’ neighborhood are 2 stories, with at least 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms (some have more). There are a couple that are 2,500 square feet or less, but most are close to or more than 3,000 square feet. Some of the houses in my parents’ neighborhood are worth close to $1 million!
