So I got my first real watch I guess you could say and I was wondering since it’s not really a watch I’m going to wear a whole lot is how many turns do I need to wind it every day?

    1. Unlock the crown by turning it counterclockwise.
    2. Slowly turn the crown clockwise to wind the mainspring.
    3. Continue to turn the crown until the mainspring is sufficiently wound. The second hand will start moving.
    4. Lock the crown by turning it clockwise while pressing it

most of those will run about 40 hours. wind it until fully wound. or buy a automatic winder

Tacojova, I’m not an expert but do have a few automatics. Most of them are in the 40 range. So wind it 40 times and let it run. This is gonna be tiring on a every other day basis so I would recommend a good watch winder. A lot of times you can feel the crown starting to have a little more resistance to em when they start to get fully wound. Most autos have a clutch so no risk in over winding your watch like what would happen if it was a manual wind.

I retired 4 years ago and haven’t worn a watch since.

That’s pretty much the same movement that’s in my Samurai and I usually just let it stop if I’m not wearing it.

I usually wear it Mon-Fri and switch over to my Apple Watch on the weekends, so I have to set/wind on Monday mornings.

Not sure if that’s a bad habit, but it’s easier than winding it every day, and I have to make sure not adjust the date if the watch says it’s between 9pm and 4am.

I wore my first Seiko every day for 15+ years and it looks like someone hit it with a wrecking ball, but it still keeps excellent time when I get it out of the drawer. It definitely influenced my decision go with another Seiko when the Apple Watch got banged up.

I'm going to try to take better care of the new one and not wear it when I'm swinging hammers or working on cars.......

I supervised commercial construction projects for 40 years and was a slave to the clock and calendar but now I’m free at last! Wear a watch if you like, the choice is yours.

I need a another watch like I need a hole in my oil pan, but my new Seiko just wears way too big and I'm contemplating a Lorier now.

It's definitely Seamaster 300 inspired and has the same movement that my new Seiko has, so it's probably a pretty good watch................ https://www.lorierwatches.com/products/neptune

Giving the ProTrek a little sunshine. It's my "if you were stuck on a desert island" watch.
