    Will you be his Valentine?

A 104-year-old World War II veteran hopes to receive plenty of Valentine’s Day cards this year, to add to his collection of keepsakes documenting his own incredible life and generation.

Maj. Bill White served in the Marine Corps during World War II and survived the Battle of Iwo Jima in 1945, Fox 40 reports. One of White’s most cherished medals is his Purple Heart, which is awarded to those who were wounded or killed in action.

“The fact that I even survived is something. There weren’t too many of us,” White recalled.

White was near the front lines of the battle on March 3, 1945, when a grenade exploded about six inches from he and his fellow Marines, according to Fox 40.

The injuries he sustained took him off the battlefield, but White recovered and went on to enjoy a long military career.

“I spent 30 years active duty and 54 retired,” the centenarian said.

Today, the California native stays active at his assisted living facility in Stockton, Calif., dining with friends and working on his scrapbooks, a favorite hobby.

Along with his many medals, White keeps his scrapbooks organized on a bookshelf in his room, nearly sorted by year.

This year, the spirited veteran hopes to grow his collection of keepsakes with Valentine’s Day cards from friends old and new. (KTXL)

“It’s kept me busy just trying to locate or keep track of what's happened to me, where, when,” he explained.

This year, the spirited veteran hopes to grow his collection of keepsakes with Valentine’s Day cards from friends old and new.

“I'll save every one of them like I've been saving little things that have come up until right now and they’ll be a personal part of my history,” he told Fox 40.

For those who hope to live as long and happily as White has, the centenarian advised folks to “just keep breathing.” (KTXL)

"I can't think of anything else. I can give you all sorts of ideas and suggestions but if you're not breathing, they don't mean anything,” he exclaimed.

Valentine’s Day cards for Maj. White can be sent to:

I saw open child molestation on the street while driving through Riyadh. A man had pulled a boy of about 8 or 9 into an alley to get a handy, and you could see it from the intersection. Apparently, the only people who stop and look all 3 oncoming ways at a 4-way stop are us idiot westerners, and I saw more than I needed or wanted to. I had to be ordered not to interfere, as I was in the process of jumping out of the car right then to commence an ass beating (and I was the driver because my intrepid captain was allergic to a clutch pedal). Saw a couple more things like that, and eventually had a Saudi explain to me (and this was a MAJOR in their Air Force) that "women are for marriage, and boys are for fun." I shit you not.

Palestinians, Egyptians, Syrians, Lebanese, Turks, Emiratis, Qatari, Iraqi, Iranian - I got no personal beef with you as a species (despite occasional political and governmental "concerns" over how y'all running your shit over there) and almost all that I met were good folks - but the Saudis got to fucking go. That and their permanent indentured servitude/modern slavery system they have instituted - the shit has to end. Third Country Nationals are treated like slaves.

Saudis are the perfect example of what happens when intolerance, repression, and inbreeding intersect.

    End them all.

Not true! Up until 04’ it was a 10 level task that we had to very every year. Still trained on a lower level but the emphasis has by and far switched to counter-IED though.

More likely- That is an interchangeable mop/broom. Wanna up your nonsense game, sweep, then mop the motor pool line!

Similar to what they told us when we deployed to Bahrain..."women are for babies, men are for pleasure". They prob send them child molesters to Bahrain, since "Allah" cant see across the bridge. Theres some other stuff Intel folks told us too, quite disgusting.

This is really cool hearing these C-RAM stories. I was involved as a contractor in the early testing of the system at Yuma in the fall of 2005. The development of the system is really a cool story about how the Army improvised and developed a quick turn solution to an urgent problem.
