All this talk of knives, figured I’d share this...

I got stuck going to Homegoods with my wife a couple weeks ago and wandered into the cutlery section. They had several “made in Japan” knives with names I didn’t really recognize and in several blade styles. I was shocked they were so cheap, between $10-$15. I found a santuko blade and was trying to figure if it was worth even trying, my wife piped in and was like for $12 just go for it lol.

So far I love this thing! Sharp as hell (we’ll see how long that lasts) and lightweight because the blade is a bit thinner than my Henckels. If you have a Homegoods around you, may be worth checking it out

I got the same knife from T.J. Max (same as home goods) in the clearance section for $8. I’ve had it a couple months and the edge definitely didn’t hold up like my Wusthof knives. It did get put in the dishwasher once “by accident” so I’m sure that didn’t help but for $8 I am pleased.

Yea I figure it'll require more frequent sharpening. And you're correct, TJ Maxx, Homegoods and Marshalls probably all have them since they are all the same company.

Glad to see someone else enjoying them

Since we're on about knives, have any of you used the Work Sharp system for keeping your cutters and slicers in sharp shape? I was looking at them at Cabela's recently.

That's what I wanted to hear! FIL and I were looking at YT videos, and it looked really neat. I like that you can pull it apart and use it on things like hatchets and axes, too.
