You got a IG? The dude I workout with is like 6’3 and 180lbs. He’s got the issue of wanting to get big but can’t. Was gonna try to get him to ask you for advice.

Eating is key.. everybody says, “I could get big if I juiced” and then you ask them if they’re eating a lot and turns out they don’t eat as much as my 11yo niece and wonder why they are the same size. You’re selling yourself short.

Well if the goal is to just get fat... yeah eat a bunch. But it takes minimal caloric surplus to gain mass (200 calories). Especially when we are talking people who lift for hobby and not elite level.

I think most people just don’t follow programs designed by someone who knows what they are doing. They just hodgepodge a program a program themselves and nothing is really focused or dedicated so 50-75% of their effort is wasted.

You know what happens when you design your own program?
    You look like you.

Pretty much have only this week left for solid training before this big comp. I am starting to feel less and less confident on some of these events but I'm still planning to go out and try my hardest. Hopefully it doesn't kill me lol

Pretty sure my new job has a free gym on the first floor. Once I get my badge I’m gonna go explore. Might have to wait until tomorrow though. There’s also a 24 close by but not sure if my membership works there will have to find out. Will probably try and start doing pre or post work workouts depending on traffic. Hoping to be able to surf in the mornings before and lift after work

If my work had showers I’d run at lunch. We are right off a park downtown. Gym and showers would be nice

Unless you’re eating garbage and not active, nobody that is serious is going to get “fat”. Your typical gen pop male between 16-30 wanting to get big has a faster metabolism and is erratic with their eating habits, doesn’t track macros and typically eating 500 cal in surplus one day and being under tdee calories the next day and then feeling that their effort was sufficient.
I believe you are correct about the programming aspect. There is more to train than bench, biceps and mirror.

If you are eating very inconsistently that may be a factor but I feel most people have that reasonably covered.

I wish people never told me to eat a lot to gain mass. Would have saved me a couple years of getting fat.

We are both saying the same thing here.

do you mind me asking what you were honestly eating to “gain mass”?
