If they don't meet DOT regs, then they are all for SHOW and not for GO.

They meet them. The Raptors have the corner lights as well as required by DOT due to the width. Just because they aren't on the roof and by your standards have not met the guidance doesnt mean they are show, JFC. Again I doubt Ford has been producing a noncompliant passenger vehicle for the last 9 years. But yep you know. Even the third brake light up close has 3 red LEDs to meet compliance for its width.

I only read the laws. Not make them.

Most law makers are very particular about the reg's. They either fit the law. OR they don't.

I will gladly admit when I am wrong, it happens often, this time I am not. Again have had 2 of these trucks in the family and know the DOT requirements. As I laid out the three in the grille are there for a reason, just like the corner lights and the 3 red led lights built into the third brake light on them.

I bet if we all put two amber lights in our taco grills the DOT will notice and see THEIR mistake.

Not three lights...those are for Raptors. Tacos should have a requirement of two.

    Problem solved.

No, no, no. Tacomas should have 4. That's cause they're better than Raptors.

Is the housing clear to clearly distinguish the 3 red lights and you're probably still missing the corner lights and 3 ambers up front to meet DOT requirements for a passenger vehicle greater than 80'' wide.

Well at least now I'M compliant. You're welcome, @Btaco73. This proves my point that they are entirely for show and not for go. The roof lights are for go...

They're required for indicating that a truck is wider than 80". Posers like to put them on their trucks to pretend they've got a Raptor. :jerkoff:

The Department of Transportation (DOT) requires 3 amber lights in the front and 3 red lights in the rear spaced 6-12" on any vehicle over 80" wide. It doesnt matter where you put them. People put them in the grill because they wish they had a raptor.

What I find ironic and equally stupid as putting them on your truck to begin with is that nobody ever puts the red ones in the back.
