Right, a lot of people make that mistake. OP has a DC Automatic Sport so the price would be exactly the same as a DC Automatic Off Road.

Some dealers will tell you anything to make a sale. Always check the facts, always. Said that, Sport is a very nice and capable trim. Unless you're in to some hard core off-roading, it'll service you just fine. Enjoy your Tacoma!

I personally don't need a locker, never had one and only been stuck once, being stuck on the frame. Anyhow I know my limitations and have no intention of putting my truck in places that may need one. I have always owned a 4 wheel drive for the past 37 years of driving. Enjoy your Sport.

Crawl isn’t a magic button, I’ve been stuck in mud twice, it didn’t help, (always carry a shovel) I’ve seen it in snow, not really any help, seems good in sand. I need to get out to the river see how it does in loose gravel. It will help control steep uphill or down but you can do that yourself.

OP, it’s more complicated than adding a switch because the Off-Road & Pro models use a different brake booster system

Might want to change your model in your signature. Sure hope the dealer didn’t tell you you had crawl control.
