Idk yet. Going to have elbow surgery tomorrow so not sure how mobile I will be.

Thank you! I've never had surgery before so I'm a little nervous about it. Although if I hadn't googled videos of what it looks like I think I might not be. Lol

It's funny, I was just telling someone yesterday that I have talked to people that say this very thing and I wonder how is that possible?
I mean, my first trip to the emergency room was when I was around 2. I fell down the cellar steps trying to turn the light on. I still have the scar over my left eye where I busted my head. It just blends in with the rest of the wrinkles now.

Surgeries these days are virtually painless. If they offer a local anesthesia procedure as an option, I would opt out if your insurance covers it. That whole "count backwards from 10" scene is so freaking trippy. I generally only get to 7 max. A couple hours later you're waking up wondering where you are. I kinda dig it.

What are you having done? If you don't mind me asking.

 

I've had 4 surgical procedures in the past 2 years, you'll most likely be asleep or so out that you don't know it's happening and when you come too, you'll be groggy and on pain meds so it won't matter. It's the day after that it begins to get sore and you have to figure out how to maneuver without aggravating the area. Don't be nervous. You'll be fine. We're all rooting for ya!

Elbow Arthoscopy to remove part of my elbow lining which is attacking and destroying cartilage in the joint and to help correct some issues caused by rheumatoid arthritis.

Trust me when I say that NOBODY is more shocked about my never having had surgery or even broken a bone than I am. I was born in the 80s and survived this long without any major health issues until I was diagnosed with RA. To be blunt, this shit sucks. I'm 33 and it's not a common issue in people my age apparently. It's very frustrating to go from being incredibly independent and being able to do anything I want and work on my own vehicles etc to having to ask others for help. Of all the things this has hurt I would say my pride has taken the worst hit as I HATE asking for help and feeling like a burden to people I care about. I still live my life, and I pay for it sometimes with the severe fatigue and weakness/pain, but I refuse to let a disease steal everything from me so I keep my head up and keep on trucking.
