Hey, how's it going. I currently have a 2012 Pre-runner 4x2 and in the next few months, I wanna upgrade to the Off-Road model. Other then 2018 having " Safety Sense" are there any other big changes between the two years? Anything I need to look out for?

    Thanks.

You can get screaming deals on the new 2019's right now. Probably cheaper than buying used actually.

    2018 is 1 year newer :D
I think 2018 the driver side bed compartment was removed...I have a 19 that I bought new, but I would have bought any of them for the right deal, Its just that the used prices are about the same as new for late model low mileage used...

I've been looking at 2017,2018 years and they are selling around $28,000-$30,000 The brand new ones are going for $36,000-$40,000 I'd rather buy one with 20,000 - 30,000 miles on it and save the money.

I use my gopro mount for my dashcam . I bought my 17 used with 4500 miles on it to save money and its Toyota Certified . You can find the CPO ones for the same price as used .

I guess it was removed on 19s. Mine doesn't have it. Just a little cubby hole with a door for straps, hitch ball etc...Look at 2019s as mentioned I bought my 2019 OR DCLB for 32,500 + TTL sticker was 39k. If you can find any 2019s left on the lots you can deal a bit more than you could right now on a 2020. Financing is also cheaper on new if you are not paying cash. Either way good luck. Good used go quick if they are priced right, so be ready to jump if you find what you are looking for.

Thanks yeah usually it'll just depend on how much they will give me on trading in my 2012. It has 83,000 miles and I've been offered $15,000 for it.
I don't have the time to sell it my self. Buying new is great but the low interest payment is only for 60 months and I want to finance for 72 months.
    I think I'll be sticking with a 2019 unless I find a great deal on a 2017 or 2019.

I'd get their best price first, then talk trad-in after you get your price. I traded in my 06 4Runner because it was showing signs of a head gasket leak on cold start. I didn't want to sell it outright due to that suspected defect (was going to be an expensive repair that I wouldn't do myself). If you negotiate a good price they are going to screw you on trade-in. Just how it works. If no issues with your truck (Personally Id keep driving it) but it could be sold for better than you will get on trade and would likely go quick in a larger market area.

You should be on the $31k to $32k range for 2019 OR.

They may be asking $34 to $36, but that is $3k too high

Your right about agreeing on a price before telling them about the trade-in. However, they want my truck just as bad as I want their new truck. It'll just depend on how much they want to make on their truck (Depending on what they paid for it and not how much it's worth) Plus maybe willing to give me more for my truck
