It’s been chirp-free since. But I also try to only fill up with Shell gas from now on. For some reason, even on the previous fuel pump, with Shell gas it never chirped.

    For real?

Hendrick Toyota, Merriam Kansas, KC metro area: went in for my 25K mile oil change and a service guy is walking by as they're checking me in and says "he needs a fuel pump too, I can hear it." I had no idea.

They pulled up the TSB and performed the service. Never paid a dime.

    No hush hush.
    No fight.

Had my done. It was simple. Started it up in the service check bay and they heard the noise and a few hours later I picked up my truck.

Clear some space around you at the service counter and just let it out

I feel you. I don't live in Kansas City I live in Wichita. I drive to Kansas City because the Wichita Toyota dealer is FULL of shady characters.

It's not just a Toyota thing either... had to play musical dealerships with a recall on my wife's Fusion before Christmas.

man, it IS normal. All of toyota's new HPFP do it, some just earlier than others. I've seen some of their cars have it replaced 3 times and it still does it, especially when it's really hot outside. You can replace it all you want, it will be back. The only fix I've found for it is temporary. About every 5 tanks or so, use non-ethanol gas. It will lubricate the pump and quiet it down for a while.
