The date on that is Feb 2018. The latest talk seems to be a new thing, not yet announced as far as I know, but includes 2019 models, where this one does not, so not sure how they might be related, but good to have on the list for sure.

It will get louder sometimes. Depends on a few things. If it's hot out, the type of gas you're using, or even where you're sitting when you hear it. It's usually really loud in drive throughs because the sound bounces off the building next to you. The part was modified about 4 times on the FRS/Subaru before they gave up and just started turning people away saying it was normal. I had mine swapped and it came back in about 4 months.

Any time someone tells you something is normal reply with "just because it is normal does not mean it is ok".

Would Mr. T agree that a chirping fuel pump is “normal” on one of his Toyota vehicles? Absolutely not!

Ask for a written and singed/stamped statement indicating the noise/issue is normal. Imo dealerships lose their mind when they understand they can be liable for an issue. After you get the statement, also say something like "If the pump fails and I lose power and crash, I will now know who is liable" . I got few issue fixed in the past by asking for written statements saying it is normal. If it is normal they should be able to put it on an official document, if not, it is not normal.

It sounds like crickets man. Like chirping crickets. I had mine replaced back in 2016. The harder you run it the louder it gets. After being turned away several times I drove to the dealer at about 90 mph. There was no denying it at this point. lol. They still had no idea what it was but a couple other people on YouTube had this problem so I was able to convince the manager to swap the pump. Finally.
good luck OP. Raise hell!! It’s the only way they would listen to me.

Does it sound like belt chirp? Mine makes a really slight chirp at idle sometimes (not the injector cleaning) thought it was belt noise and forgot about it.

Yes it does. They actually changed my serpentine belt and tensioner before changing the HPFP.

Just keep trying. Dealerships try to keep their monthly warranty quota down as corporate will come down on them if they perform too much warranty work.

Talk to the service manager. I literally brought my truck in for three warranty checks and the service guy said that Toyota only allows 1 warranty claim a month blah blah. I called the service manager and called foul and he cleared it all up and got everything checked.

He then explained the warranty metrics to me which was kind of interesting.
