As others have said, I bought it through the website and it gave no option to pay more and my paypal account was not charged. I payed the $5.09 anyways because I don't want any issues. My order number is: 402053997.

 

So if we paid through the website and not through paypal, all is well?

 

Same question: I checked out through the site, paid with credit, and my card has been charged. Is there more to this?

 

I realize that funding for this was an issue and decided to buy to help offset the financial pain of purchasing the molds. Any updates on when these will be ready. I've paid and have receipt of payment...

I read this as use of PP (which uses a CC) or a CC without PP requires the fee to be paid

 

LOL, we're all very envious of your wisdom - I think you're only the 30th person to quote the 1st post - but most people that ordered from the website were thoroughly confused, for good reason. There are buyers that aren't on the forum and even buyers that don't have paypal. I for one thought it was very goofy to pay on a website and then $5.085 through paypal. It was pretty clear that this was do to an issue with the site, sounds like this has since been fixed.

It sounds like everyone that purchased on the website needs to make the additional payment through paypal.

Correct. PayPal knocks off $5.09 from the $165 price. @KTJO 4x4 has since adjusted the website price to include the fee.

 

Wouldn't there be new fees on the extra $5.09 for people using PayPal payment? Wouldn't the new amount need to be $5.55 to cover this? Doesn't seem like a lot but extra amount x100 is $45 loss.

$5.09 - 2.9% - .30 = $4.64
$5.55 - 2.9% - .30 = $5.09

If you send funds via PayPal as "friends & family" there are no fees, only you when you choose "for goods & services" do they charge a fee.

 

Understood... But people obviously used g&s or I think they wouldn't owe money in the first place. My simple observation and math was based on people paying the extra amount the same way they paid the first time. With g&s. I was just looking out for OP

I was all well and dandy til I went through this post then jumped in my Taco to get some food and I reached for a handle to jump in(slight lift) and there was nothing there. Ugh! Waiting for payday now

 

Just to make sure you (and others reading the thread) are setting correct expectations.

If you paid yesterday, it still wouldn't matter. This product is pre-production and not expected to ship out for a while. A "while" is still undefined, but from other posts MY expectation is some unknown amount of time for production after OP gives the OK to start and at least 4-6 weeks for shipment from China to the US. Then some time for QC, packaging, and shipping to users once they get here.

This isn't Amazon click and ship.
