    when i first installed mine i programmed the buttons to what i wanted and it messed things up. You can’t seem to customize the controls. just stick with the default button setting on the maestro and you should be fine. all of my steering wheel controls work as they should.

    I’ve had it well over a year and had zero issues. Had to reflash the Maestro, (which is a pita since you have to pull the radio to get to it) but no other issues.

    I have the AVH-4500NEX, it’s identical to this one just has a resistive touch display instead of the capacitive. Awesome unit. Good choice.

    The AVH-W4500NEX is the current successor to the 4400. It’s does have guidelines if needed.

    seems like every IOS update it does it for a week or so then it starts acting normal again.

    on another note, can anyone access the Transmission Temp on the gauges, mine doesn’t allow me to select it. it showed up one day but wouldn’t read a temp & now it’s blacked out again. Just pulled the maestro and flashed 2.7 to see if it fixed but no luck.

    Not available for us unfortunately. I have a hope that the RR2 will add it in, but I won’t know till I get my hands on one (or someone else does)
    The RR only communicates on 2 CAN-BUS networks, and the RR2 can communicate on 3. I’m hoping the transmission temp data is carried on that 3rd network. I’m sure that info exists somewhere but I just haven’t taken the time to look into it.

    i thinking maybe it’s because the tacoma has 2 transmission temp sensors and the we have no way of selecting. like i said it popped up about 2 weeks ago and when i selected it it showed a temp of -40 and outside temp was about 55 so it wasn’t correct. I have a 17 thought i read RR2 is for 18 and newer. hoping it will be avail for 17s. RR2 sounds like it will be awesome.

    Most recent firmware is from October, about a month after iOS 13 came out. Make sure you have that update. Mine seems to be doing much better, so it was either that pioneer firmware or Apple updates to CarPlay firmware.

    Tried to update mine. Keep getting a message that says update failed and it’s in a boot loop with the update. Reset didn’t work

    Update: I got it out of the boot loop. I reformated the USB drive to fat 32 for the 3rd time. but this time I unchecked quick format. Then I loaded 1.02 on there. The radio said updating

    1.00 ------> 1.02

    and it said that was successful. The radio launched as normal. I went to the info section and it says it still has 1.00 instead of 1.02.... wtf is going on. Feels like i'm taking crazy pills

    MESO stage 1 lights, LED's in cab, Sony stereo and Rockford Fosgate speakers in the doors and Kicker subwoofer so far....
    Maybe give it an hour or so, these new-fangled radios are sometimes kinda temperamental even though they're advertised as bleeding-edge technology and should update instantaneously. Discovered that about new technology while working for a computer company....
