So basically I just realized with the off-road bumper I purchased, it is super close to the body which basically means I can’t fit a decent winch ( 9000+ ) without trimming the grille because they’re all about 7-8 inches tall when I only have about 5 1/2 inches between the mounting plate and the grille. I really don’t want to trim and if it comes down to it I might just put a steel plate over the open top that way it doesn’t look empty and not even put a winch in there. Do u guys know if any winch options that are worth a damn and are pretty small height wise? Or do these not exist lol.

Generally, the smaller the winch the lower the power. Ask your bumper mfg what winches fit in their bumper. Pictures will help.

If my grille was not all cracked I would give it to you not like it does anything.

If your worried about the Grille you don`t want a Winch that bad .

Modify the bumper to fit what winch you want

    Very true.

If you're in an area where you'd need a winch, rocks and branches have already done a number on your vehicle to worry about cutting a grill.

What kind of bumper did you get?

My warn m8000 fit fine with both my all pro bumper and new "bumper"/frame/winch plate. No trimming needed.

Recomend looking at winches with a remote solenoid pack. Or get a welder and start hacking up whatever bumper you are using and lower the winch mount.
