What Tacoma do you have?

My truck is my profile picture; It's got about $600-$700 in the stereo system, including...

• Pioneer double-DIN touch screen head unit with Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth
• Clarion backup camera
• JBL GTO component speaker system
• Custom tweeter mounts
• Rockford Fosgate Prime external amplifier (feeds the JBLs)
• Kicker Hideaway 8" powered subwoofer
• Roadkill sound deadener

My neighbor helped install the stereo system increments over the course of a few days, and the sub/amp install took the longest by far at six hours! My truck's MSRP was a little under $18K new, and my dad paid a little under $15K for it after trade and negotiations. My $600+ stereo in my base model 10-year old truck blows just about every factory system in existence right out of the water!

@ABA180 is from Mass like you and has pretty much the same truck as me, and I think he has an even louder stereo system than me!

 

My truck had about 37,500 miles when I joined this forum on July 15th, 2014; I am currently at almost 109K This means I've over 71K miles on my truck in less than six years!

It’s a Sport and not an off-road, which means it doesn’t have the locker, but I love it anyway! I want that truck!

I put the tweeters in the sail panels and it sounds amazing

 

Did your truck have the factory JBL system or no? Are there still tweeters in the factory locations? The only modifications we had to make to fit my current speakers (the woofers, not the tweeters) was cut the inner part of the door panel; The woofers would have been too big otherwise.

 

Factory are disabled and I wouldn't waste the money on the crappy JBL OEM System.

 

I've never listened to a Tacoma JBL system...
