Haven't had to before so going to ask what others have done/recommend - best way to transport a transmission, diff, trans case and assorted front end components for the swap? Don't really want to try putting a trans in let alone taking one out of the back of my tacoma. Figure truck or van rental would do the job... yes, no? About a 3.5 hour drive (1 way).

 

I got one last summer, was the real deal in Toyota oem bag, same price, fit.

 

Whats wrong with the taco? If getting it out is your fear, youd have the same problem with any of your other options.

 

much higher off the ground. was thinking a van would be lower (no ome lift, right? ). IDK - like I said, never had to move a trans.

 

Couple buddies+case of beer. Arent you close to @Sperrunner and @BartMaster1234? Pretty sure theyve done this a time or two.

 

no, right - they are. just 3 hours one way with both of them in the cab, not sure which would be coming back lol
