Anyone using off brand tires?

What is the formula for the calculation? I have not seen it.

 

My tires are pretty much new. 6,000 miles. I am looking for a larger size.

 

You clearly missed my point. Why put cheap tires that clearly suck on such a new, nice, and not very cheap truck. Makes about as much sense as building a rock crawling buggy and putting racing slicks on it. I then added the price you could get tires worth buying on my next post for just a little bit more $$.

 

It’s called the cheap a** tire formula. Buy cheap tires that wear like d***, Get worst gas mileage because the compound sucks. I’ve been thru my share of cheap tires, it always pays in the end to buy a higher quality tire that will wear better and because of that you get better gas mileage.

 

I wholeheartedly agree about "Cant make this shit up" difference is that is what I am thinking about your statement. My original post was seeking information. I'm not sure how this gets turned around like this. I do get a kick out of the mindless responses people like you will add to a conversation. There have been so many intelligent replies posted. Take a minute to read them. On the off chance that you do not already know everything, you may learn from other's experiences.

 

We are all just giving you some shit, and don’t mean anything bad about what we’re saying. But also want you to be safe and happy with tire choice. Which is why I’ve replied so many times with somewhat useful info.

 

While I have no experience with these tires, I have have run my share of cheap tires on past cars...

I had a 1988 BMW 325ix (AWD) first set of tires I got were fuzion tires, they were pretty good in the summer, but as soon as winter showed up the rubber became hard as a rock, cracked all over the place and even with locked AWD I couldnt move in the snow.
I put some mastercraft snow tires on after that (they were already 20 years old when I got them) and they were great, not as good as my bridgestone winterforce tires, but still pretty decent.

I think if I were to get some cheap offroad tires for my tacoma, I would get a extra set of wheels to mount them to. Use them only for offroad trips and not for daily driving.

 

Off topic but I had a good friend die because of his tires and ever since then I replace mine before they are all the way due and I don't go cheap and not the best just good .

 

I'm getting rid of my Hankook's this spring due to age, not wear. I'd trust these old warn Korean tires over a brand new tire from all these Chinese brands I've never heard of. Going to Yokohama Geolandar G003's next.

 

Noted. I'm in FL, So i can't say anything about rocks. I CAN say we get lots of rain, and mine do pretty great in the rain. Just my results though.

I got 4 and they seem legit

 

I got offered off brand tires couple times now and always said no. Dont think its worth it, there is a reason they cost cheaper. The compound is probably shitty and they will wear out quicker or will wear unevenly. So you are not really saving any money.

I think tires are extremely important, so i never cheap out. I always got brand name tires, they lasted for a long time, wore evenly and got good traction.

Like others have mentioned, falkens or coopers are a very good tire for a good price.

Everyone has their own opinion, it's always the best one, and you are wrong if you think otherwise. Read the reviews on some off brand tires, watch the YT videos that you can stand for >1min w/o wanting to strangle the idiot who made it, and make an informed decision. Then report back to us on your experience.

I've had the same thoughts as you. I beat the hell out of my tires running 15-25 miles a week on my AR flint dirt road. It carves Michelins up like a turkey and I've been thinking of going to some cheaper 10plys. Do the research for me duder!

BTW, really love the "You will die!" approach from some of the posters to doing something other than what they think is the right thing to do. Jeeezus lolwtfBBQ!

do not risk your lives with a cheap tire... please...your kids and wheel bearings will thank you

 

Lol your tires have to fit throughout the full suspension range, not just sitting still unless you replaced your springs with iron bar stock. Lifting does not fit a tire. What happens when the suspension compresses going over a bump? Unless you got your tires to fit at stock height, you will rub.

That’s what I ordered. Tire shop messed up and I kinda got stuck with these since my buddy works at the tire shop and brought them home from work and put them on my truck for me while I was at work. At that point I was stuck

 

They suck

 

You’re gonna love them. They took almost zero weight to balance them.
