Fact. I also highly recommend the MT with an ADM done. That makes the MT a pleasure to drive if you know how to shift properly.

Had one for 50,000 miles. No longer have one.

4.88s MIGHT make it ok in stock form.

At least you put enough miles on it to have an informed opinion. Fair enough. Seems to be okay for me though:thumbsup:

Don't feel like reading all the other posts even though I'm pretty sure it's been covered.

Get the pro if you won't modify anything besides tires.

Get the Off Road if you wanna mod (lift, wheels, ect.)

Personally, I would go with the off road. You can actually get a discount on those, vs nothing for a pro. Comes out to a huge price difference in the end. I've seen ZR2's get good discounts now that they've been out a while, but those damn trd pro's won't. Happy truck shopping.

You can get discounts on a pro. You just need a dealer that doesn’t suck or leftovers on the lot.

I’m sure it has improved with later calibrations but I can confirm 04b00 and 01 were garbage.

Test drive both and get the one you like. If you can afford a pro then get that and if you want to save some money for other things then get the OR. I went with the OR because I didn't want to pay for Pro when some of the things on the Pro I didn't really need or want.

My bad, I live in socal where they are treated like GT500's at the dealer. They usually have markups on them here.

Buy the Pro. Or don't. But don't let a bunch of internet strangers make your decisions for you.

I don't like it here either. Well, I like where I live, pretty rural, but I hate how I hate to go to the city for things like clothes and good food.

Anyways, guess Toyota starting making more pro's since I see so damn many. I haven't seen a 2nd gen pro in months.

I had a lifted 2nd gen and I got full KBB excellent condition value. I think lifted sells faster.

I've been considering the same trade offs. I don't have a Tacoma, and I've not decided for sure to get get a new vehicle at this time. I'm here to learn about the options. If I get one, it would be an OR or Pro. It would see little off road time, so my priorities may be different.

    The options I'm considering are:
    TRD Pro
TRD off road with all packages except the tonneau.

If they were making enough Pros to meet demand, I'd consider one. Basically, if the same 12-14% discount was available on a Pro. But around here they're MSRP. So that makes the actual selling price difference very big. The suspension difference isn't a factor for me, so that's a very expensive set of wheels and embroidery.

The pro rides more firmly than the off-road. If the roads are bad where you are, it’s a pretty noticeable difference.

The Pro soaks up the big bumps, especially when you’re going fast. I don’t know if it’s even possible to bottom out the suspension! But the smaller bumps are felt.

I got a ‘19 OR because I knew I would mod it out but if I could go back I would do one of three things:

    1) buy the pro first because I could have saved on modding this early and had possibly a more comfortable ride for the first 50k or so miles with my kids and modded suspension later. I don’t intend on doing Moab or the Rubicon with my 1 and 4 year old in tow maybe but desert washes and road bumps on SoCal freeways suck. MT at least gives me some joy. And army green is a sick color.

    2) bought a model 3 for daily driver and a gen 2 to fix up and for the weekends. I drive 90 miles a day and have to come up with a system to pack/unpack quickly for spur of the moment trips since I have a non traditional work schedule.

    3) do what I already did and enjoy browsing these boards and dumping money into my truck and enjoying every bit of it.
