I am a SCADA Specialist (SCADA = Supervisor Control And Data Aquisition).

Basically - I design, build, maintain, and support the system and application that a major natural gas transmission pipeline uses to control their compressor stations, delivery/receipt points, and processing plants from a control center here in San Antonio. That is why I am on-call 24/7.

I am hiring an assistant if anyone is interested (hey, I can't be on-call the rest of my life).

    ;)

Yes, but if I don't answer a call then half of Dallas could lose their electricity (even worse - I lose my awesome job).

I'm kind of a big deal...

what do you mean you dont go out? ever? thats unfortunate....... granted, ive been locked in for a bit due to work and such, but there are just too many place here to NOT go out. you DO however live in between nothing, and less nothing, so i dont blame you!! i am just joking, i wish i could live in the sticks right now, it would make my running around naked yelling at trees way more acceptable.....right?

I've been divorced for 9 years. The first few were rough. My best advice is TIME. It will get better. It won't get better overnight. There isn't a quick fix. You will go through alot of shit with mixed emotions. Eventually down the road when you both have moved on you will hopefully get along. I get along great with my ex now. We talk occasionally as if we were friends. But in the begining we fought constantly. There was complete hatred towards each other.

What I did after my divorce is fill my life with things to do. I got a part time job delivering pizza. On my off days from my fulltime job. When I didn't have my Son, I would work. It was much better for me than sitting at home by myself feeling miserable. Plus the extra money helped. This way I was around other people & I could forget my problems for a while. For me alone time was the worst. Or hang out with friends more, or join a club.

If there is no way you can or want to reconcile with your ex. Then the best for you is to not have anything to do with her. Except where your daughter is concerned. Don't call the ex and talk about problems or how your day is. Find another friend to talk about things with.

I have a friend who came home from work oneday & his wife had moved out. He had no idea. This was last year, he was a complete wreck. He is much better now. But not completely healed.

I tried to date right after our split. I was trying to fill the void in my life. I dated a couple of women for a few months. It was not what I needed. After that I took some me time & didn't date for a couple of years. I just would hang out with friends and not worry about anything.

Once you get your mental state back on track. I would say at least a year or more. Just depends how long it takes you. The way you know you are over her is: You don't bring her up constantly in conversations. Or compare her with someone else.

When I was finally ready to date. I tried eharmony. Very expensive. It was an ok site. But now I use http://www.plentyoffish.com (completely FREE). the people on here seem to be just as good as on the eharmony site.

    Good luck,
    Sean
