I dislike this cover a lot. His voice cannot actually extend to the range and it's so processed it ruins it. Simon and Garfunkel will forever be the only version I won't turn off immediately. Also five finger dick pinch can fuck off with all their covers lately too, just as bad.

 

yep, thats it. although mine did not come with front mud guards and instead of nerf bars, actual running boards (which I know we've talked about and I never followed through on - haven't forgotten)

 

the truck in that last photo had maybe 80k on it.

It's like 16° and snowing here. Beautiful weather. I've been hooning around. I can drive the cruiser like it's a normal day with this AWD system and these tires.

 

these were port installed nerf bars. kinda shitty.. they sit too far in to even be usable. just keep em on to stop door dings

 

its supposed to get even colder I think. at least for us it is. a lot of rain and snow on the way for our mountain regions. Snow level here in the bay is supposed to drop down below 3500 feet. Going to be COLD.

Lol jk, I can see what you mean. No cover will be as good as the original but I do like Dave Draiman's rendition. Usually I hate covers of most songs because so often bands just try and remake the song exactly as it was, if you're gonna cover something make it your own in a way I guess.

 

Today was our coldest in the 10 day forecast. 19° was today's high, tonight is 8°. Warms up to 28° tomorrow

 

oh.. and the 02 will be getting my headers, cats and cat back sometime soon... and the beds coming off to assess the rust.. and clean it up. but my fathers pretty much decided hes buying a frame for it this summer... just to have.. because this truck stays till hes dead.

 

I think my dad either borrowed or owned a FJ55 back in the early 70s for a little bit. That's my first memory of going wheeling, being in that thing. Blue and white one like this.

 

I've seen disturbed live, spoiler, they SUCK. They might've been good once upon a time but his voice is a pile of ass that no live processing can fix, they're only acceptable after studio work. It feels like a lie to me, so I choose to listen to other stuff.

 

One cover song I hated at first but came to really love is Johnny Cash's version of Hurt by NIN.

When it first came out I was in my early 20s and not that familiar with Johnny Cash, I wondered who this old fucker was that thought he could cover such an intensely personal NIN song. After getting more familiar with JC and especially after learning his history, the cover really makes sense and is especially poignant.
