I saw Scosche has an adapter to link aftermarket head unit to stock 3.5mm/USB port. Not sure if you have to have Maestron onboard as well, but will check next time I am watching instruction videos. yes, I am also installing a new HU and Maestro. I am not planning on using the Toyota port (don't even have one) as I want one that provides fast charge as well as data transfer.

    Sadly, not much.
That is super reasonable. I am considering adding this to my current setup.

I'm assuming you didn't have the gears changed, correct?

My vote would be that your radiator support bushings are toast. When jarred abruptly, the sleeve and bolt smack into the support, cause the rubber is deteriorated. But that's just what it sounds like to me.

I have one on my truck. I used composite shims from Home Depot and hammered them under the bottom and on 1 of the sides to keep it from rattling. Once you cut the shims down, no one knows you have them installed. Cheap and easy fix.

In keeping with the theme "What have you done to your 2nd Gen Tacoma today" Well, I tried to open the passenger door with the key and it failed, is there a simple fix for this? I sprayed it down with W-D40 to no avail. it works fine using the fob. I can live with it this way, but I would really like it to work, Thanks

I’ve done nothing to my truck because of this BS. And it’s in Celsius for our American neighbours. -47F and -67F with windchill at the coldest.

I had a first tonight: went to add more windshield wiper fluid and my hood was frozen shut. Got it eventually.

I used to have the metra and was annoyed by the rattle with the plastic brackets, so i reused the factory ones but had to drill a few holes to get the stereo lined up exactly how i wanted. wasn't too hard to do though. Now i have the Scosche since i did the 12+ blacked out dash center trim, my only complaint with the scosche is the profile isin't the same as the factory stereo so i had to make shims in order for my expedition essentials tpam to fit correctly.

Over the last two days i mounted my radium catch can
Then pulled the motor out in order to put my oil filter relocation on and to do a final clearance on my oil pan
Then painted my frame rails and motor mounts and then pulled my dash so i could mount my new gas pedal and pull my heater core so i can weld on an fittings to the tubes.
now just need to make a pedal plate for the gas pedal tomorrow.

It might also be that your drivers side cylinder is worn with the key and the passenger side isin't so it doesn't key correctly.

Your key that you use every day might be worn down from years of use. You could try using your spare key.
My 2015 only has the option to manually unlock the door on the driver's door.
