The shop that mounted my 255/80 Coopers did 55 psi. Was on the downhill side of 80 going toward Cisco Grove and found myself all over the road in the turns. Sketchy as hell.

Some tire shops will just balance your tries to .5 not 00 and when they do it will vibrate at 55mph go back to the tire shop...

I dont know why shops do this. Drives me crazy. They set my 255/85 Toyo MTs to 55 as well. Road like square bricks. Currently running them around 31-32 PSI and very they handle better and ride better.

I worked at a dealership where some technicians would set light passenger cars to 45 to 55 PSI. If a sales man can to the shop saying the customer is experiencing a rough ride, one of the first things I would check was the tires.

Balance and rotate your tires. Them repeat every 5-7k miles

Draw this on the floor, try to hit the boxes with the tires, if you can't do it in one go, wait for your next turn and try again.

I think if you had gotten a quicksand color you wouldn't be having this issue.

Is it possible the tires are out of round? I had that with a set of tires a while back and finally just dealt with the vibration until I got a new set.

    Very frustrating.

So I dropped the PSI to 38 all around and (WOW!) what a difference. Dare I say they are soft, squishy, and grippy?! Seriously. So so so much better than the stock GYs.

I don’t have much new to add here, but I have the same tires and size on my TRD OR, which is otherwise stock. Usually run around 38-40 psi. Smooth, fine ride, and very little wear over the 20k miles or so I’ve had them. Truck has 65K so the shocks are showing age, but these tires are great. I guess I got a good set and good installer ... Lloyd’s Tires in Santa Cruz, first time customer, no connection.

Think about it. New tires and a wobble. Def the tires. I had 4 new Goodyear tires mounted on my tundra years ago and went straight to a road trip. Worst 300 miles in my life. ALL 4 tires were out of round, had to replace them all..

You should be about 31 psi.

After reading thru this thread I see people recommending 28-29 PSI for 285-70-17 which is almost the same size as 285-75-16

I run my grabbers @42 psi but I’m much heavier than stock.

All 4 are at 35psi right now and the ride feels a bit stiff for my taste
I was thinking of bringing it down a bit
    Maybe 32 or 28
