Which ditch lights?

Debating between Baja Designs S1 v S2 pro, same output different look. Half the cost for the S1. Probably will turn them on once or twice a year I think.

Do you guys have any other recs. KC Flex has less output for the same price so probably a no go. Rigids all seem a little large. That being said the BD LP4 seems like it would look cool but didn’t want light going back through my side windows with their 200 degree light arc. Plan on having them pointed down and to the side not straight ahead.

I run the KC Flex. Great ditch light.

I wouldn’t knock KC’s low lumens. They spend their time making light effective and efficient instead of just blasting out whatever output they can get.

The KC fog lights were better performing despite producing less than half the lux of its main competitor.

I’m not saying this translates to ditch lights but something to consider when researching lights.

 

I’ve owned Cali raised and currently baja Squadrons. I actually like both! The CR width is so usable. But BD’s light temperature is perfect and the spot function is awesome. I’ve thought about running both.

 

Another endorsement for KC. Their engineering and optics are worth every penny. I own their fog lights and am totally impressed by them. I would by their other products without hesitation. An old brand that seems to be based on quality.

 

Rigid sideshooters here. But, all my lighting is Rigid. Love'em

 

Got mine from harbor freight. pretty solid. (not a brand whore)

used them during a storm this weekend when i had to do a 3 point on a narrow 2 lane road (Power lines and tress down) with deep ditches

 

I had Caliraised sideshooters, and I loved them. I took them off a year ago to put on some Baja Design Squadrons (I wanted amber)...

Recently gave the caliraised to a buddy for Christmas and installed them on his 4runner and got to say...I was kinda jealous of them. If you're lookin to save some cash and don't mind the look of them, I'd go with CR

 

I just installed the S1's and I'm very happy with them, really good output.

 

Not really ditch lights if you cant point them down farther.

 

I mainly use them for cornering while on switchbacks and selecting a campsite, they are are angled correctly for my use. They have a wide beam.

 

Wasn’t on your list but I REALLY like the Rigid Dually Side Shooters I have the Driving model. They’re insanely bright, and shoot forward as well as to the side. I have yellow covers that snap on that I run when I want them as a visual warning to others. This picture was from Moab and I was sharing trails with SXS’s that were ripping so I wanted as much visual alerts as possible due to all the dust that gets kicked up. Mine are mounted to Rago stainless mounts FWIW. Been very happy.

 

I’m using Cali raised spots and cheap Amazon floods in a dual setup. The paint on the amazon ones have held up better in 2 years but both work very well for a budget option. This is the best pic I have of them.

Rigid Dually SS on my truck. They aren't near as big as you think and the light output and beam patterns is awesome

 

Not sure where you got the prices, but the S1 and S2 cost the same. The S1 actually have a higher lumens rating, 2375 lumens, vs the 1130 of the S2.

The wiring, the switch, the whole set up is nice and was easy install for me.

 

You are thinking of the S2 Sports which are cheaper and have much less output. The S2 Pro are what he is referring to.
