Anyone else with an iPhone XR who moved to the version 13.3 having issues with their entune radio. Ever since I updated to 13.3 when I go to make a call it reboots the stereo. Never had issues till now

So did some research and testing. So far if I remove the Entune app from my phone, uninstall the phone from the truck , resync it via Bluetooth... outgoing calls work. Reinstalled the Entune app and every time I make a call the stereo reboots over and over. As of now the Entune app is off my phone.

try forgetting the headunit from your device. then delete all personal data on the headunit. Toyota has yet to release another update to support the newest iOS

The fix seems to be the following.

Forget device (truck) from your phone in your Bluetooth settings.

Forget device (phone) from your truck’s memory in the settings (don’t recall exactly where, I can track it down if you can’t find it).

Repair phone and truck together as if it is the first time.

That seems to resolve the issues. Not clearing both devices causes issues.

I had the same problem. I fixed it by changing the settings on the head unit to not sync contacts photos

Nope. What I have determined though is that anytime I’m connected to the JBL head unit with my iPhone XR, the head unit just keeps rebooting about every 30 sec or so. I’ve deleted my connections from the unit and the phone. Reinstalled both and still exact same prob. If I’m not connected the head unit doesn’t reboot. I’m going to try downloading the last update to a usb stick, push it and reinstall the iPhone. See if that works.i opened a ticket with Entune but I’ve not gotten a reply worth a crap from them.

I had the same issue and the above worked for me. I do not have the Entune app installed on my phone.

I also have been having this same problem. I don't recall it starting immediately after I updated to iOS 13.3, but it would have been soon after that update (having this problem for a few weeks now).

I updated the radio's software (via the USB stick method).
I have removed the phone from the radio as well as removed the truck from my phone's bluetooth list (3 times now).
I tried the option of the contact photo check box in the radio settings, still had the same rebooting problem.
I deleted all personal data from the radio (this takes a few minutes), didn't help.
I do not use the Entune app (didn't know there was one).

If I'm on the radio and switch to the songs on my phone = reboot
If I'm on the songs on my phone and try to make a phone call = reboot
If the radio is "off" and I try to make a phone call through the truck = reboot
If I'm on the songs on my phone and switch to the radio = reboot
If I'm on the radio and I try to make a call (or receive a call) = reboot
If I'm on the songs on my phone, out of no where = reboot

If I disconnect the phone from the radio = no problems

I have also noticed that while I'm on a call, and the radio reboots, I am able to speak on my phone until the radio has fully rebooted. Then the call switches to the radio and lasts for 30 seconds before the radio reboots and kicks the call back to my phone. I've been on calls long enough that this has happened 4 times during the same call and each time the timer on the screen gets to 30 seconds then reboots (this does not count the time it takes during the reboot with the warning/message screen).

I've taken my truck to Toyota and they blame the phone. They also told me that Toyota is in no hurry to pay the fees for access to iOS software to allow for updates on Toyota's end (not sure about how this part works, but there's probably some truth to that).

I never realized how much I utilize my phone and the truck together until it doesn't work. There's not enough info out there to tell me it's my specific radio, the Toyota software, or the iOS 13.3 update. I could buy a used radio off eBay for $500 and take the chance, but that's a risky game to play.

Don't know what to do at this point.

This is the same problem I am having. My iPhone 6s plus had no issues on my 2014 until I moved to the iPhone XR with 13.3 update. This is the same kind of crap they pulled with getting rid of Pandora on their radios. If you promote connections to iPhone with you sell me the damn truck, you better keep that option going. At this point, I am unable to use the stereo for much of anything since if it connects to the phone it just reboots every 30 seconds.

No change if you unsync contacts? That has resolved this for some.

I did the SOFTWARE update via the USB.
    Removed phone from truck.
    Removed truck from phone.
    Paired both back up.
Reinstalled Entune software. Works better than before but it’s still randomly rebooting so far.... still testing at this point
UPDATE: tried to make a call while phone is connected- REBOOT

Try this, don't skip any steps, and don't make up any new ones.

    1. Forget the Truck from the iPhone Bluetooth settings [click the circled "i" and forget it]
    2. Remove the iPhone from the truck radio so there are no phones paired [settings -> Bluetooth -> remove]
    3. Turn off the truck
    4. Turn off Bluetooth on the iPhone
    5. Uninstall Apple Music app from the iPhone
    6. Reset network settings [go to settings - general - then you’ll have the option to reset network settings. Don’t reset anything else... just the network settings]
    7. Sign out of your iTunes account on the iPhone
    8. Restart the phone [power it OFF, then ON]
    9. Sign in to your iTunes account on the iPhone
    10. Reinstall the music app
    11. Open the music app, select some songs, then select shuffle and let it begin playing the music on the phone first to be sure it’s working properly
    12. Turn on Bluetooth on the iPhone
    13. Pair the iPhone with the truck again

I found this on the Tundra forum, and did this 2 days ago, no issues since.

    UPDATE:
I was able to get everything working again. Here is what I did:
-"Forget" the Truck from the iPhone Bluetooth settings. You have to select "forget this device"
-Turn off Bluetooth on the iPhone
-Remove the iPhone from the truck radio application so there are no phones paired [settings -> Bluetooth -> remove]
-Removed all personal data from the Trucks radio. This is an option you have to select to do on the truck radio.
-Turn off the truck. When the radio came back on, there are no iPhone connections or personal information.
-Turn on truck and used the latest Entune update which I downloaded from Toyota to a USB device.
-Installed the USB devices and used it for the update.
...the update took about 10 minutes to do.

while the update was going on....
    -
Uninstall the Entune application from the iPhone
    -
Restart the phone [power it OFF, then ON]
-Reinstalled the Entune application on the iPhone
-Sign in to your Entune account on the iPhone
-Turn on Bluetooth on the iPhone.
-Pair the iPhone with the truck again

There are pretty good instructions on the Toyota Entunen site that give some of the same instructions. As of right now I'm up and running again on my iPhone XR running iHeart Radio from the JBL Head Unit.

    I hope this helps.
