Just rub your finger over the camera before you get in truck. Only solution I’ve seen.

I rely on the mirrors to back the truck up, I just like the camera to really get close to things. Unfortunately, when I get where I'm going, it's all crudded up, especially in the winter, so I just wing it. I haven't got the point of the rest of the Bostonians who 'park by touch', I still do have a pretty good sense of where the back end of the truck is and haven't bumped anything yet.

I would think so, as long as we don't get too much snow tonight. Sure looked good this morning on my over it on 202. Although ice is weird this year from what I am seeing. Not much clear ice. On Silver the other day we had at least a foot but it was all white ice. Doesn't instill much confidence!

They need to add a washer nozzle right above the camera, so you can give it a quick spritz during the winter when it gets crudded up.

That's what I was afraid of. Worried the white ice is insulating the water and the good ice won't set up..

Might be on lower stump field this weekend doing big boy radio stuff.

    Come in Tokyo!

This is what I do. I just hope I'm not scratching up the lens.

I found my Tacoma, lifted with the bigger tires, easier to back into tight spots without a camera. Maybe because I could see the rear wheels in the mirrors. With the 4Runner, I feel like I'm starting to rely on the camera too much.

Just use a little moisture and don't use a lot of pressure when you wipe it clean and it'll be fine.
Besides, even if you did manage to somehow scratch it after 10 years or so, a replacement camera unit isn't that expensive. :notsure:

I'm with Jason, I'd be worried about scratching it over time. Commercially, there are 'self cleaning' glass coatings that I'd love to get my hands on. It's just a super slick, super flat surface without the imperfections you get with most surfaces and dirt and grime just doesn't stick to it. I was hoping Rain-X would help but it just doesn't last very long.

Ceramic coating opti coat 100% works for all but road salt. When salty a quick splash does the trick well

Just enjoying the paradise that is RI - south of that rain snow line. The forecast just keeps changing for us to get less and less snow :tumbleweed:. TWC has us out to Jan 30 with only mix snow and showers, we might get an inch of snow Saturday afternoon/night.

I don't mind snow, hate the cold. I'd love a warm snow.

Snowy. It's the sticky stuff that packs in, too (at least around the Lewiston area).
If you stick with 95 until the Alton/Milo exit and take 16 it'd probably be smoother than getting off in Newport and taking 7. Last time I was up that way during a storm 16 was much better plowed.

    They call that rain.

Taking a road trip down south soon, SC area - potentially to jump ship and move. Sick of this cold.
