OIL CHANGE QUESTION ABOUT THE FILTER
Can someone remind me the trick to not dumping oil all over the frame & suspension as I remove the filter during an oil change? I'm getting tired of wiping up all the excess oil...
I may get to the point of relocating the filter if I start driving more and changing the oil more than 2x a year.

I've heard to take it off with a grocery bag around it but that's never worked particularly well for me. Brake cleaner is cheap and makes for easy clean up

I just crack it loose and let it drain after undoing the drain plug. That way when you spin it off it doesnt just dump oil everywhere.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
The axles would be spinning constantly and so would the diff. Meaning the driveshaft

my biggest complaint with oil change over the weekend was re -tightening the oil filter with my wrench. Loosening it was super easy but tightening it was fuckin awkward as hell. I had my left arm thru the wheel well, and right on the wrench handle. Torque spec is super low on it tho, like 22 lbs right?

I snugged it up p damn tight, but drove up north later that day which had me sketched at first haha

which means you can do shift on the fly 4wd with the jshift case. Aside from the potential MPG hit I don't see it being a wear issue on anything.

no, the front yoke on the tcase is unlocked and spins freely in 2wd. Doesn't engage until you shift into 4wd

whoops, that gives me confidence it wont leak then. Shouldn't be an issue removing, correct? thanks u two for the info, first time I did it myself. Ran out of those coupons for 22 dollar oil changes haha

Once didn't I do it tight enough on my last ram and when I threw it into R it caused a trail of leakage on my driveway so I have anxiety bout it..
