I missed the weekend action due to medical failure... but I did wanna comment about the Titans successfully beating down the "best team in the league"

That coach has those boys playing hard... and Henry is what best mode wishes he could be. At this point... I like them to go all the way.

Of course... the Titans have always been my second team due to my love for Nashville( I do root for the Predators) and have been since Wychek was 1/2 yard away from glory... so I'm not quite bandwagoning.

    Kthanxbye.

That fumble 'no call' at the start of the game certainly favored GB?!?

Just saying he could have bet on Wilson first. Win that bet and maybe Rodgers has to watch it all end instead and his fans grouse about game altering calls. Lose it and the defense may still get the stop. 4-down territory is whenever it pays to take the chance. You bet on your best and Wilson is the best player on the team. I'm not sad they lost and tickled Wilson collected a few hits in the process but dissapointed in that choice by Carrol.

It's a bet, then. Winner gets to pick the Team Logo to be used by the other.

Team Logo. Not some bastardized joke of a logo. You said gentlemens bet. Be a gentlemen. Not that it will matter, as the San Francisco Forty WINNERS will prevail.

Luke Kuechly announced his retirement from football.

He’s been a great player for Carolina. Hate it for them but they haven’t been doing good anyway.

Niner defense is back. Rodgers will be dining on sod, or chucking hail Mary's all day on 3rd and a mile hoping for a miracle or a cheap pass interference call.

That's not quite the same thing... I can understand how a referee could say there wasn't conclusive evidence. There is no clear video of the recovery, unless you saw something I didn't? The spot they gave Jimmy Graham was different. I don't think any reasonable human could look at those replays and say that's a first down. In addition to that, the Hawks ended up punting on that drive anyways, so the consequence for the fumble call was field position for the Packers. That doesn't exactly translate to a game changer. Maybe they score on that drive, maybe they don't. The first down call deadass ended the game right there on that play. It was more consequential by miles. Finally, one bad call shouldn't offset another. These plays are all reviewed by dozens of folks from dozens of angles, they should be getting nearly all of them correct. If it was clear that the Packers recovered that ball then it should have been a turnover. That doesn't have any bearing on calls made later in the game. Whatever, it is what it is, I hope they crush the Niners...

The yellow line on the screen was not accurate at all. If you actually look the the first down marker and draw a line from there, the ball was essentially right on it. Definitely not enough to change the call.

I thought it was a first down.... soooo... Guess I am not reasonable. But I never did claim to be.

I get that the line isn't accurate, it was like a foot beyond the first down marker. Jimmy Graham is 6'7", clearly had the ball at his waist, and his helmet was on the grass before he crossed the yellow line. He wasn't extended, he wasn't carrying the ball in his helmet. It was a generous spot and a poor review.

If you go look at the live video where the sticks actually are, they are behind the 36 by about a foot. Which puts the ball where the marker was. First down. Don't go off stills without the actual down markers in the picture.
EDIT: Check out the first down marker camera. Yeah, it is a long look but you can see he isn't down until he is RIGHT at the line of gain. Further down in the article you'll see red line (actual) versus yellow (TV). Also, it was third down. If they were short you KNOW they would have gone for a sneak and gotten the first anyway.

The zebras botched that play when they called it originally at no fumble. If it is called correctly at the start, the possession is not in question. GB has the ball after the scrum.

No offense man, but that's ridiculous. Yes, go watch the live video, the ref runs right past the actual first down marker AND the yellow line and spots the ball just short of the 35. Here is the video:

Look where the ref runs to and spots the ball, then compare that to the screen grabs of where Graham's head is on the turf in relation to the 35. This isn't even close. I understand that the yellow line isn't official. What I'm saying is that the spot was horrendous. Maybe he just barely got the first down, I don't think he did, but I guess it's possible. But I don't think the inaccuracy of the spot is debatable. It was clear when it happened live, it was clear from the replays, and it's clear from all of the still shots of where he went down. It was a generous spot by like half a yard.

Here is where the ref spots the ball:

    Screenshot_20200115-110811_YouTube.jpg

Here is where his helmet hits the deck in relation to the 35, and the ball is like 2' behind that:

He still looks short, but not by much. Seattle lost the previous game by maybe that little but the coverage on the goal line is usually better. Sometimes it's hard to figure what constitutes clear and obvious evidence given what they've ignored this year but when you have to infer ball position within a foot by stitching together camera angles it's neither clear nor obvious. Looks like Seattle got stiffed but then it was in their power to make other plays too yet didn't. Allowing a reciever to both get deep and make the catch on 3rd and long with double coverage also made losers of Seattle. They get no pity from me, this wasn't like the Rams PI non call. They lost the game because the Packers did more to win it than they did at the end. Seattle had their chances and pissed them away on other plays than this one. Had they done the job on any of those chances this play would not happen.

LOL I just watched that video super closely again. You can actually see the divot his face mask makes in the grass in relation to where the spot is. Guys, that wasn't even close...

I agree with that. Green Bay was the better team that night. But I still think it's pretty silly that we are seeing calls and reviews that bad in NFL playoff games, with less than two minutes to boot. The Hawks should have at least had an opportunity to make a stop on 4th down. Maybe they wouldn't have gotten the stop, but the refs shouldn't be stripping the chance from them.
