Hmm, so if I want to target meteorites that may be in heavy alkali dry lake beds, and maybe nuggets in dry desert stream beds with black sand here and there, should I look for a PI based MD? Does Garrett make those? Not looking to spend a lot, just starting out. Thanks!

Garrett makes the ATX pulse induction. They run about $2k. I have one and I have had decent luck with it.

There is a detector made by Tesoro called the Sand Shark. It runs about $570 or so... BUT... the company is currently in a non-production mode at the moment. Something about restructuring was last I read? Tesoro detectors are some of the best from what I know.

Other than that, I don't know of PI machines that are fairly "cheap in price"?

Tesoro HQ is just a couple miles from my house. That place is a ghost town.
