SpecRide was an epic fail. Born to squeak, and they were replacing a ton of them. You could hear my truck coming from a 1/4 mile away 6 months after they were installed. They had to do something. The new bushing/bearings are still not greaseable it appears, but perhaps they retain lubrication better.

Are the arms the same on 25470 & 80 and just the ball joint different?

Bumping this because I'm curious. Have a brand new set of 25470s I never installed on the tacoma and currently looking to upgrade suspension on my 4runner. If the arms are the same might be able to just change out the ball joint possibly?

Arms are the same, ball joint taper is different. Should be able to sell the new taco ball joints and buy the 4runner ones and slap it all together without issue. Double check with SPC.

What @nd4spdbh said is true. Buy the T4R ball joints and reuse the arm. If you want to sell those Tacoma balljoints, I would be interested.

recently Had to do a warranty claim with these cause when torqued to spec they would pop/clunk.. the xAxis bushing was bad.. they had a bad batch or two..

installed the the fixed ones and have had no clunks or pops.. all good..

    Warranty process:

    1. called Toytec (who I purchased from)
    2. Toytec contacted SPC with proof of my purchase
    3. same-2 days later SPC contacted me and verified the information.. they took a $50 deposit and sent me new arms only and return label .
    4. Got new arms in two days..
    5. Shipped back and Pending deposit refund.

Over $200 for a replacement set of ball joints from them.

I'd much rather have a design that uses an off-the-shelf OEM ball joint that I can replace with a visit to any auto parts store and/or buy a cheap spare that I can throw in the back of the truck for a rainy day.
