is the 3rd gen anyone elses first tacoma?

First Tacoma. First car was a 93 corolla 5spd. That wouldn’t die no matter how much I tried. Dad had a celica gt that let my brother drive in high school. Dad let me borrow his pickup for a while too.

 

This is my first Tacoma. I had a Pontiac Vibe which was basically the same as the Toyota Matrix with a different look sold and some differing components sold by Pontiac. It was actually a really fun little car drive and it surprisingly had a really large rear cargo space when you put the seats down. It stuck with me how well it was built and how it handled extreme heat in Phoenix and extreme cold in Boston. I only had to replace the battery in all the years I owned it.

 

My first Tacoma and technically my first Toyota. We also own a 2008 Lexus GX470. Love them both.

 

If that fixes it I'm buying you a beer the next time I'm in San Jose!

I just picked up a 2020 Off Road DCLB. It's my first Tacoma, first Toyota & first 4x4. I've had 2wd Rangers in the past but decided to go a different way this time. We'll see how the experiment pans out.

 

I almost bought that car, always regretted not doing so. Had priced out an AWD version too I think 17k or so and ended up buying a boring as snot Mercury Sable 2004...

Funny when cars were cheaper. My SR was 31k...

Second Toyota, first Tacoma

 

Did you not like how the new ranger looked either? It was girly to me, like the Ridgeline.

Liked the look of the Tacoma and it is supposed to be unkillable like the old Rangers (Mine was 20 years old when I sold it, also 2WD but I had nice Grabber AT2s on it so did pretty well in snow)

BTW 4WD rocks! the stupid stuff I did with a 2WD ranger is a breeze with 4WD. Haven't even tried 4LO yet

 

Also, what these guys said, first Tacoma and since coming on this forum I’ve had to charge my flashlight multiple times...smh!...lol

 

First time being a Taco owner ! This truck is awesome, compared to my single cab Ranger. This truck I’m keeping for as long as I can and my goal is to get it to a million miles

 

This is my first taco, came from a nissan sedan. I was going to buy a taco 5 years ago but was convinced out of it. I was tired of people carriers and wanted something not people friendly, so I chose a two seat only taco. Its too high for my family to get in and not the smoothest ride. I should have bought this a long time ago.

 

First Tacoma and even first Toyota but won’t be my last! Going to get massive heat but never really liked the older Tacoma’s. To small or I Donno just more of a full size guy. Then the 3rd Gen Tacoma came out and I knew I needed to have 1! But now that I have fallen in love with my Tacoma it has made me change my tune about the older Tacoma’s I guess the respect your elders kinda thing!

A bit off topic but I do plan to add a
Toyota Land Cruiser/ FJ cruiser, 4 runner, and Tundra to the family eventually!

 

have you hopped in a full size recently? lol the tundra is basically 2 recliners and a couch.
I hopped in them this past weekend just looking and its so freakin big.

idk how I use to drive those things.

Yea I was between a f150 and Tacoma and since I work in retail and always in parking lots the f150 was to big would of had 10,000,000 door dings by now. Other positive is when I go out on trails with buddy’s when we get back to the road there trucks are normally pinstriped as a MF where as mine might have a tiny bit!

 

My first brand new vehicle, my first car loan, my first full coverage'd insurance vehicle, my first Toyota.

 

Wait a few years, I'm probably $5-7k in mods at this point.
