No problem. I'd say get a VSS whether it's OEM or aftermarket and wire it up and compare what you're speedometer is reading vs actual speed using a GPS. You may not need to even swap teeth, or based on the results you'd be able to see what tooth count would work best for you.

@clupi heres my other rig, I enjoy driving this one even more than the taco. Plus it comes from the factory with manual hubs. What was Toyota thinking catering to these folks who want to push a button and teleport through space via 4wd?

Ok, so I just did the FJ transfer case swap and ADD delete. My 4wd lights are flashing. Should I just get rid of the 4wd ECU and hopefully that will get rid of the dash lights? Personally, I don't need lights to know if I'm in 4lo/hi :burnrubber:

Yeah just disconnect it, that's what I did. You can make some modifications to the indicator system to get the lights back if you change your mind later.

Thanks! unplugging the 4wd ECU tomorrow... Except I have an e-locker and realized it won't work without it... maybe I'll pick up the Chilkat cable conversion kit for the e-locker to eliminate all electronics from my drivetrain.

Where are you located? I got two relays for the locker any time, I can spare one if you're near Sac Cali

nice. I’d say maybe 250-300 if it’s stock gears with relatively low miles.

Yes, thanks.. I put it up for sale on local CL! Its got 95k with 3:91 (fj stock gears) so hope I sell it. Was thinking of keeping it and building another 3rd for my Taco, I'm 4:88's but not locked up and keep my current diff as spare but eventually I'd like to do a strait axle. Thanks 20200124_164343.jpg found another 79 ford 60 which I guess is the ultimate Add delete :) ... just a little at a time unless I get a sponsor

So minus the bolts, a new bearing just (going to replace anyways), and a seal. That’s about it right. And some gasket maker. I called the salvage yard down from my house and they have a complete front diff from a manual fj with 3.91 gears in. Dirt cheap so I’m going to get it tomorrow morning.

    Hello,

If you do the ADD delete and have a FJ transfer case, are you still able to shift into 4Hi from 2Hi while moving? Is there something in the transfer case that synchronizes that?

I am trying to understand how that would work together (ADD delete and FJ TC).

    Thanks!

Has anyone removed the 4x4 ecu and extra wiring after deleting the ADD and fj case swap?

With the fj case in, the actuator plug can technically be removed (right?) and with the add delete the add plug can be deleted (correct?)

With just the wires connected for the dash lights (from the sensors at the tcase) all the other wires can technically be removed?

I have my interior apart and I’m pretty sure I can remove the tcase actuator plug and figured may as well remove what ever else to simplify stuff down the road.
