    So.. what's the consensus?

    1. Old clamp and just clean up crusties and replace with new clamps

    2. I'm screwed with a potential leaky radiator at the lower hose

I'd clean things up and start with a new hose

It was really nice of them...combined with making me salary this year instead of hourly like I have been the last 4 1/2 years, and the 3 weeks vacation..they've really helped me out with it all. Salary will mean I won't lose hours if I have to come in later or leave earlier on days my wife needs help with the baby. Doc appts and stuff like that. Luckily she works from home mostly so it won't be a big issue

Gonna be going back at a crazy time at work at the end of the month, been getting my emails still and there's a lot going on so it'll be interesting.

Hoses were replaced at most a year ago. Still replace?

Replaced radiator cap when I did the hoses and coolant last time

Feeling so damned lazy. I don't want to rotate the tires even though they totally need it and are way past due. The f-ing coolant issue, the ARB bumper removal for the grille and trans cooler... oil change...Dont want to do any of it.

I could just pay @BartMaster1234 to do it but he might take even longer than I would to start the work. I could pay @Sperrunner but he wouldn't use any sort of safety prep and just rush into the job in an energy drink induced frenzy...

Guess it's going to sit a bit longer. :pccoffee:

Ive actually been doing a lot of work on my truck this past week. Plugs, oil change, air filter last Friday. Washed it today and blackened up my fender flares (for now lol), gonna try and clean inside tomorrow. Then Friday its new tires and an alignment.

Funny cause the dealership called me yesterday to tell me Im due for an oil change and 90k mile service. Id get a whopping $10 off if I took it in. She hung up the second the words "I'll pass on that" exited my lips haha. Some job, having to call people all day to tell them their car is due for service. Guess idiot lights and stickers on the windshield arent enough these days.

That's a good suggestion that hadn't crossed my mind. Assuming the hose and clamp are fine(look like it, but never know) if the radiator cap isn't letting the pressure blow off it could have an effect like that picture huh?

In your situation I'd think it was a case of sleeplessness ;)

I have no idea how I'm even going to muster the energy to do a conversion. Pfft.

Tires? Where did you have them mounted? Discount Tire or Costco will do it for free.

Yeah, another thing I've seen, is the interior surface of the hose and that plastic outer surface of the radiator cap that the hose sits on has to be free of debris and gookus and the hose has to be nice and square and not twisted, etc. And the OEM constant tension clamp(constant tension by far best clamps for coolant hoses) needs to sit nice and square on the hose so the pressure is applied evenly. Sounds ridiculous but I have seen it more than once. Just a heads up, that's all:D
Wish I was there to do your 4x4 swap and arb install and stuff with ya. Would be a hella fun project to do with another Yota head:D:cool:

Replaced the radiator cap with OE Toyota along with OE Toyota hoses when I did the coolant. I didn't bother replacing the original clamps and I should have.

I bought the tires from a vendor on eBay and had Custom Alignment mount them to the 4Runner wheels follow d by an alignment.

I can and need to do it just a pain in the ass.

I get mine done for free at the dealership despite me not buying tires there. I had my wheels installed there so their computer saw that as "mount and balance 4 tires." Guess it thinks I bought said tires haha. But its super rare that I go there anymore. Getting new tires at Firestone, guess I'll ask about free rotations.

I'm not saying those clamps don't go bad, but I've never had to replace one due to losing tension or going bad, etc. Just more food for thought is all
