    A little something every chance we get.
    Have those available - met deductible today. Honestly, with past experience with private health insurance, the savings plans cost more. In Part D, you either participate, or you don't. Annual deductible in now met, that drug will cost $47. Tier 1 and 2 generics are free - the majority of my meds.
    Not as simple as "seen on TV!"

    Worth a shot. I grab this from the hospital. Generally when we complete a med rec for discharge the cm runs the patients benefits and they find the cost of the medication prescribed. Depending on the situation of an outpatient infusion is too much for the patient to afford they either stay in the hospital to complete the duration (ex if I.d. recs vanco for 16 days if culture is sensitive to vanco) hospital doesn't like this as it takes up a bed. Another is patient goes to a snf and the snf takes up some of that drugs cost. In some cases where an infection for example requires a very specific abx than the patients insurance negotiates price with the Pharmacy. Generally an hmo plan though. Another is to ask your pcp or cards doc to see if there are alternatives that are more cost effective. Sorry i cant provide any assistance.

    My rheumatologist has got me on humira now. $5000+ a month. Between a couple "samples" she hooked me up with and using express-scripts.com I haven't had to pay anything yet. I don't know why express-scripts hasn't billed me but if Tricare doesn't cover it for the long term there's no way I can afford that ridiculousness

    The ridiculousness of HCI in the civilian world is what forced me to go into the reserves less than 30 days off active duty. I'm gonna ride the tricare bandwagon till the gubbament throws me off.

    One of the added vital signs I look for now is the patients payer. Sad but they lay the track add we're just along for the ride.

    Just a bit of useful information i'd like to pass on to some of you guys now that y'all have already passed on a bunch of quality information to me.

    Do any of you use the gun magnets in your truck or have a holster mounted somewhere such as the dash or exposed center console?

    (Mind you i'm only discussing Texas Reidents)

    If so, then regardless if you are a current LTC holder or not, its actually a criminal offense. I only bring it up in a group like this because I typically see this in relation to offroad/outdoor/weapons enthusiasts

    So i'm an LTC instructor and this was something that was brought up by DPS State troopers as a somewhat recurring issue based on alot of sales through social media advertising (specifically on the gun magnets)

    So i'm going to copy and paste Texas Penal Code Chapter 46 which deals with the unlawful carrying of firearms and then i'll explain.

    (a-1)AAA person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries on or about his or her person a handgun in a motor vehicle or watercraft that is owned by the person or under the person ’s control at any time in which: 4 (1)AAthe handgun is in plain view, unless the person is licensed to carry a handgun under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, and the handgun is carried in a shoulder or belt holster;

    What this means in simple terms is that in order for a firearm to be in plainview while operating a motor vehicle, the person has to be a license to carry holder and the firearm has to meet the same requirements of chapter 30.07 (Open carry penal code) which restricts the open carry to a shoulder or belt holster (meaning it has to be attached to your body, not the vehicle). The confusion comes into play when people learn that they can have a weapon without an LTC in their vehicle under castle law, however if unlicensed, the firearm has to be concealed (not plainview) in the vehicle and not on the operator's person in a place such as the glovebox or center console.

    No worries. I don't know of any LEOs who would hit you just for that (usually something to combine with other offenses) but better to get some knowledge out there for you guys who likely have a weapon system.

    I always carry concealed on my person anyways just to make sure i'm in compliance.
